Mini tub and 345's inside the stock fenders, and you will be the star of the cool crowd.

Yeah, that's my setup, LPE mini tubs. Hard to make the rear speaker covers fit and no more targa holders...

I'd seen this before. A little bit of poke, with 325/30/19, on (I assume?) a 19" x 12" wheel

This is what I'm running on my track car. You do have to replace the studs with longer ones. Never an issue.

Using a 1" spacer will also put additional strain on your wheel bearings, If you go that route I would also change to the C6 06-08 SKF wheel bearings. That is what GM did

Not sure how much wider the "effective track", i.e. center of tire tread to center of tire tread, would be as I don't know the offsets off hand. Any wheel bearing load changes will depend on how much the tire center has moved from OEM. The C5's could pull close to 1G stock when tested, something that pretty much never happens on the street, so I would not worry too much. Personally, as an ex-suspension engineer, the spacers with studs built in just offend my design ethos, plus pushing up unsprung weight. Alloy spacers with longer studs would IMO be a better bet.

BTW, the C8 studs are larger diameter than the 5/6/7 series. Prep for the Z06 and competition use, I guess.

My issue is the mention of running 25mm spacers just to make some wheels fit. Hell no. Buy the proper offset wheels for "high speed".

If all you want to do is park it in a car show parking lot I suppose you can get away with it.
Listen up. Take good advice.
Don't be the laughing stock.

Use the proper way to do stuff! 🤨

i ran spacers for 8 years on rwd bmw.. boy do i miss that car. Never owned a car that handled so well. I ran spacers on a 500 rwhp stang years ago.. never had problems.... im sorry maybe im missing something but i just dont understand why people claim spacers add stress to the hub but going with a wheel with higher offset doesnt? Or at least is never talked about. Can spacers be dangerous? Absolutely.. but if installed properly and you get the correct ones I just never seen an issue with them. Just my opinion ofcourse
