Default Updating front corner lights to LED ?

I need to change out the front corner lights they take a 3157 bulbs, but I was wondering if I can use a LED bulb instead ? If so has anyone else changed the 3157 bulbs to LED and what was necessary to do this ?

Either a hyper flash harness will be needed to prevent hyper flash or the led load resistors need to be installed to prevent hyper flash

Just get the hyper flash harness - then you're good to go if you end up using LEDs out back in the future.

These new corner lights look great and have built in led lighting along with a hyperflash harness...I'd go this route if you're thinking of upgrading your lighting

I just did this to my '98... I bought the lenses on Amazon and the LED's on Ebay... Clear front and amber side lenses... I had also installed the hyper flash harness previously due to installing LED's in the four taillights... I also installed a flashing third brake light attachment. Everything works perfectly. GOOD LUCK!

+1 on this suggestion. I just put these on mine that I purchased from Vette lights and they look awesome. Can’t believe how much better it makes the front end look that the pictures don’t show. The turn signal is sequential

FWIW I swapped the running/blinker bulbs with yellow LEDs and just took the corner light bulbs out altogether. Nice updated OEM look. The one thing I've always loved about a C5 is the yellow running lights you can see coming at you from a distance. Very distinct. This just made them a tad brighter with the look of a modern, instant on/off LED blink vs the dated filament blinker.

This is what I think is my best option, Do I need a 'Hyper-flash' link or harness with the yellow LED bulbs ?

Honestly, I don't remember if I had them in before I installed the hyper flash harness for the LED tail lights, but yes I have one. They're cheap and easy to install, so I'd recommend putting one in if you plan on installing LEDs anywhere just in case.

Ok, I'll get the hyper-Flash harness and I'll find some decent yellow LED bulbs. The different options for the front corner lights are extensive, but I'm not one big on lots of changes, I'm more of a OEM sort, so this I think will work Ok for me.

Thank you,

Absolutely, I agree. I much prefer keeping a somewhat "period correct" look for stuff like that vs just slapping laser LEDS everywhere possible on the car haha. The halo LED tail lights are pretty much the only exception I made there.

If you can, where is the 2 connection for installing the Hyper-Flash harness, is it clear where it goes in ?

Thank you,

These are just like the ones I bought. They are great! To be honest though, I don't remember where I bought mine but the fronts are bright white LEDs and the turn signals are swooping orange LEDs. Mine came with resistors but the hyperflash bypass installation and price are so trivial, I installed the harness anyway.

One solution is the bulbs in post 8 in the link below and a hyperflash harness. These are switchback LEDs. Will tell you though that changing the corner lenses at a minimum will make a huge difference.

Post 8 here shows them with new corner lenses. Post 15 & 16 shows the corner lenses I used. I used Depo - there are a couple links to similar ones on Amazon.

These look great. Anyone have pics/videos of them installed?
