Default c5 oil filter

Which filter are you using? It appears that ac delco pf44 has been discontinued.

This. I always use the k&n…that 1” nut is fantastic especially with the tight spot these filters are in. They also have a stronger case I believe.

"Way back when", during the time that Fichtner Chevrolet was a CF sponsor, and my C-5 was new, they were selling the AC Delco "synthetic" filters, and selling them in cases quantities of 12. That's what I initially used on my C-5. Time passed, Fichtner closed, my stock of those filters was used up, and since then, I've used K&N, Mobil1, and currently Purolator BOSS filters.

The K&N filters are also the same as the Mobil 1 filters, but with the nut on the end.

Personally, I just use the ACDelco one spec'd for the car.

Can’t get the Texaco 502 “Rugged Ranger” anymore,
but Wix filters are pretty good.

Take the Wix number, remove the leading "5" and you have the NAPA Gold number, so Wix 51042 becomes NAPA 1042.

Are you SURE the Napa Gold and Wix name brand are exactly the same? 🤞

Ive compared Oreilly -Wix paper air filters, they are very similar, but have slightly different paper elements and number of folds. Just asking…🤔
