Default quick 97 value please. 18k miles, perfect show car

My father in law just passed away and we are trying to figure out what to ask for his pride and joy, a 1997 black automatic coupe.

Car has 18K easy miles, has been mechanic owned for last 20 years. Perfect in every way, all stock but for carbon fiber engine dress up and aftermarket exhaust.

Please give me your thoughts as I have someone interested and want to be fair to all parties.

IMO 20-23k would be a good start.

Thanks! I was hoping 20k was about right. Don't want to hassle with it for months either. I like to price it right and have it actually sell.

Moving this to C5 General. When you have an asking price in mind, you can repost in the C5 Corvettes for Sale section with the price indicated.

I'm going to say 18 to 20k ish because of Auto and 1997. They just aren't as desirable.

The good news is that values continue to be high with all the wonkiness going on the world the last few years.

I paid too much for my 97 a few years back, but it was also super low miles so these high values are a good thing to me. I only bring this up because it was far less than current day values.

This is a buy low and sell high market.

Sorry to hear of your FILs passing. I am not looking forward to those days down the road.

Hi Marc, not sure if you remember me or not but I knew Dan well. Use to love visiting and going on the Thursday night Vette cruises with everyone. My brother-in-law is Greg from Hooper. Dan tried to sell me that black beauty when I first was looking for a Vette. I had never owned one before and Greg took me to his shop to show me a few he had and was working on. Dan also worked on my '98 Grape Ape before I drove it back here to Arizona in 2007. He will surely be missed, he was a great guy.

If the buyer you have lined up falls through, let me know. I'm going to talk to my wife and I'd love for you to contact me if it doesn't get sold. Take care & God Bless...you and your family have my condolences and prayers.

Dan actually lived in my home town where I grew up. He lived on an acreage outside of town but it was mostly farmers anyway. Very small and great people.
