Congrats Fellow Torch Owner 🤟🏻
Congrats on the new car. I bought mine (2002 C5Z Torch Red/Black Interior 37k miles) 3 weeks shy of a year ago now. Best move I’ve made in a long time lol.
I have read and implemented tons of mods/advice already. Everyone is cool and amazingly knowledgeable. It’s like having a mechanic in your pocket. That is if your phone is in your pocket ha.
Drive on!

This is my first C5, I've owned 2 C6's. From driving C5's that belong to my friends, it and the C6 are pretty much the same, except for the horsepower difference. The C7 is a totally different car. It's light years beyond the previous cars in every way. You just need to go drive one for the fun of it. What I like about the C5 ZO6 is that it's just a raw sports car and a blast to drive.

Beautiful car, and nice find!! Now that you're here, like J.D. Clampett once said, "take your shoes off, and sit a spell"!! Sorry to hear about your wife's knees. My wife has had both replaced, too, but without the complications. Your wife has a great attitude, telling you to get what you want. With modern medicine, I wouldn't bet against her making a 'comeback'!! Best of luck to you both!!

Don't be concerned about how many owners it has, I have kept cars for a few weeks for what ever reason and it was almost always not because the car has a issue. I can't even keep track how many times that has happen. Usually if I keep car for more then a few months my friends start asking when I'm selling it. Its not unusual to see many of them with several owners. I started with a C3,then tried a C4 moved to a C5 to a C6 and a C7 and all of them where near perfect cars. Now I'm back in a 2 owner C5 Z06 but I wouldn't really have cared about owners, condition, miles, maintenance and dealer history are my concerns and of course no accidents.
Im now the 3rd owner.

Great looking Z. I also went the C6 route and then the C7 route. 3 of them. Finally decided enough was enough. Back in a 2003 with 17K on the clock. Just did a rear of maintenance to it but I do enjoy tinkering with it. Installed the Joying head unit. Backup camera. USB ports in both the console and lighter locations. Valve springs and seals. Water pump. All fluids. Mickey Thompson Tires. Water pump, all hoses, idlers and tensioners. Coolant reservoir, constant tension clamps and 50/50 Dexcool. Really none of the above was worn but after the time alone, it was time to do some up front maintenance.
