03 Z06 maintenance
I took the Z06 to MRC Corvettes today. They are going to replace the 02 sensors, figure out why the throttle body is so noisy, change the HB and seal (If it needs it) and get it to pass smog and then do a complete fluid change...looking forward to getting the maintenance done so I can finish the interior and then exterior paint....
Its going to be awesome to have it looking and running like new....

Good luck with the repairs. I'm sure that isn't going to be cheap. Enjoy the car when you get it back!

I got a call from the shop. The exhaust is not original and there is not any front 02 sensors and the rear 02 sensors were put in front of the cats....I think the place it was registered at didnt require a smog to register it. Where I live, I have to smog it. Without the 02 sensors the codes cant be cleared. Hes looking at adding bungs and Im looking into registering it as a "classic vehicle, which does not require a smog due to its age....
It is still going into "reduced engine power" mode....not sure if this is related to the 02 sensors...
If its not one thing, its 5 others...lol

to be considered a classic and not need smog, it has to be 20 yrs old. It is just shy of 19 yrs old, so have to get 02's put in the exhaust and pass smog.

picked up the car today..The shop was not able to get it to pass smog...they did not take care of the 02 sensors.
I went to an exhaust shop that said they could put bungs in and 02s. Once there they said it might be best to take to a performance shop to have them take a look first...
I drove it there and they were able to get it to pass smog by tuning it.....
Shortly after it passed smog, it went into limp mode again. Im taking it back to have them do a complete tune up, injector check, drivers door window regulator, look at the HUD (doesnt work), and repair the a/c heater......
One thing I found out was, the noise i thought was a bad throttle body is a Meisere electric water pump, also the headers long pipes 3" are after market with the original corvette mufflers. it definitely was set up for racing....
final touch will be a new paint job.....
This is going to be an expensive project, but hopefully it will be worth it.....

took the car to a performance shop.
They: did a tune up, replaced plugs, wires, cleaned injectors and TB, replaced the electric water pump with a gm OEM pump,, put in a new drivers door window regulator, tuned the engine (passed smog).
There is a few other items to be done after the holidays, then it will be ready for a new coat of paint...
