The axle back is Borla. It came on the car so I’m not sure what type though. Pretty happy with the tone.

Changing fluid may help you out for a little while. At your RWHP levels it's likely time for a new clutch. If you are currently running an oem Luk clutch it's likely slipping.

Same thing happened to me after going over 420rwhp. Replaced the stock Luk with a c6 Z06 Luk (before I knew any better). That new Luk took a **** after less than 10k miles. First track event it started sticking to the floor again. Replaced with a Centerforce clutch and with 40k miles and now FI it's still holding up with no stickage.

I installed 3.90s in my otherwise stock 2003 m6 and the clouds parted and the angels sang! I added a tune and swear that is how the car should have been delivered. Trans gears/rpm matched better at all typical speed levels (25, 35, 45, 60, 80, etc), and flat got with it when asked. Best mod for the cost IMHO.

I never tried 4.10s, but it only adds about 75-100 more rpm than the 3.90s, so I think I might give that a try on my 2004... Glad to hear you car is sorted out! Enjoy!

RUH ROH... At this moment having the slave replaced and of course the clutch needs to be changed... The shop says they want to use a Luk replacement so they can warranty it. Now I don't drop the clutch hard or race, but I do like a spirited pull on a roll now and then. I do plan a 3.42 - 4.10 swap, but again, no hard launches. Hope that clutch lasts.

That's badass! Going to be doing gears as a next mod. I'm staying at 400 rwhp. So I think 4.10 will be the best option for me? Still trying to do research on which one would fit my application better. I don't do hard driving.

After few runs on the dyno and it made 395 rwhp in 97 degree weather.

HUGE difference in power. The car pulls hard now!

As far as drivability, it is slightly better but I can live with it. It is a big cam after all.

Only issue I have now is that the clutch pedal is sticking to the floor after hard pulls. What could cause this? Bad fluid? Master cylinder going out? I'm going to make a separate thread on this.

I am very happy with the results, especially in the power department! Wow what a difference on how it pulls and drives.
When you gain 40whp (50-60@crank!) and better driveability, that's a tremendous gain!!! A win/win, if ever there was one! To gain 40whp@97°F, you've gotta be 400+@80°-85°F! Congrats!!! If you go to a 4.10 gear with that power.......Be sure to have cash reserves for tickets!!!

Maybe you'll get lucky and perhaps they make them better today than they did back in 2008. I believe they were improved after all the issues the C6 Z06 owners were having with them. (Don't quote me on that, but it sounds right when I think about it).
Easy to research and confirm.

After swapping to a performance dual friction I would never go back to a Luk again. Improved or not, warranty or not...a good performance clutch is 100Xs better to drive in my opinion.

Speaking from experience when I made similar power NA...you have my vote for the 4.10.

Which gears will give me more tickets... 4.10 or 3.90

Thanks for the feedback. Upon reflection I called my shop and requested a GM LS7 ZO6 clutch kit. Tick has them in stock so we’re ready to order. I realize these are not on par with double disk performance, but my engine is stock and the most I would enhance it would be a better 224 or 228 cam/ springs/ tune, which should keep me well within the service design of the Z06. Glad someone was willing to tell it straight.

There are plenty of folks around here willing to tell it straight and speak from experience. There are also plenty of said experiences that vary from one product to the next.

Many of us have been longtime C5 owners and have owned multiple C5s. We learn by trial and error as well as from experiences others are willing to share. We don't always agree, but most are willing to contribute.

Good luck with the new clutch! I hope you enjoy it.
