Corvette Creations TPE style flares are what you are looking for, and still being made.
I think black wheels with some of the same gold accent would look good.

Very cool idea and good luck with the gold!
As I'm trying to educate myself more on bodywork, why did you tape off/sand that section of the passengers side front fender (by the headlight) vs just sanding the whole panel out?
Also are you painting the interior colored panels gold too?
Thanks!

The reason I didn’t sand the entire panel is because the rest of the fender was good condition ready for sand and paint. If I sand the entire panel spray primer just on the small rock chip. The over spay of primer will stick all over the panel would have to sand entire thing all over again. Hopefully that makes sense.
The hood is a different story aftermarket fiberglass with slight waves and pin holes. I had to do body work and primer the entire hood to make it look like glass when done.

Updates on the Vette
Did some body work underneath the hood because will not have a hood liner. Will look just as slick as the top side of hood
Wanted to paint my sun baked plastic already won’t look good with the fresh paint job. Technically in automotive school and shops will say you can’t paint those plastic trims. But you can just a real pain the the rear bummer if you know what I mean. Don’t want to take the time or liability if flakes off.
Don’t want to take the time or liability if flakes off. But have to sand them real rough 180 coat of adhesive promoter (trade secrets) not bull dog!! will flake right off if use that. Very light one and half coat. Dry over night sand and prime again do that for 3 days then you can paint them.
Cowl was sun faded will paint a gloss or flat black with small metallics just to add a bit of class.
2 days of prime sand one more coat will be ready for the paint.
Had to primer the entire bottom side lots lots pin holes want to make it look just as good as the top side with the Aztec gold and European high solids clear coat.

What don't you like about bulldog? I've been using it for years to paint plastic pieces. Just wondering. Everyone likes what they like.

It is a good product would use it when work at the Chevy dealership. But usually bumpers come in e coat which you can usually sand and seal right over no problem. Bare plastic have scuffed used bull dog and seal no problem as well. But doesn’t always spray as even because spray can. If have painted uv plastic trim know that stuff if very non stick. Tried bulldog before and as the primer shrinks back will bubble off, crack and curl back can’t even feather edge it off because when it gets thin will just flake off. Just from my experience spray gun adhesive promoters spray nice even mist and stick better my opinion. Each person have there style just got to experiment and see what works for you.

Updates my favorite part painting and seeing the pretty Colors.
Black metallic from a R/T Dodge Durango
Ended up spraying flat clear instead of gloss to keep the stealth look vs show car.
Plastic Cowl always fades. But not this one with automotive flat clear coat
Finally got to spay the Aztec gold came out just as good as I ever hoped. Definitely has a flop in the paint from light gold to yellow gold depending on the light. But actually spayed out easily.
Same color but camera moved a little bit up can see how the metallics flop.
This personality was the hardest color I painted 2014 Nissan GT-R black edition pearl blue.
Didn’t stop painting till it came out perfect 12hrs straight painting 6 coats of base color to get full coverage. As the Aztec gold only took 3 coats.

Looking great so far. I hope your side scoops hold up. I find that mine take a lot of punishment.

I love all Gold hues on vehicles. Looking forward to the finished product. For the record… my 1st car/color ‘love’ was the ‘78 T/A in Solar Gold.
