I've owned 4 C5's. 3 Z's, and 1 FRC. I've also owned a 2013 ZR1. All were under 10,000 miles. I'm aggressively seeking another FRC or a'01 SW Z06. The prices have jumped incredibly just in the past 6 months. I regret selling every one of the cars I've owned. The C5 FRC will always be my preferred Corvette....don't want a C6, C7 or C8. Don't worry...as soon as I buy another C5, prices will drop like a rock, and nobody will want one.

Nothing is going to normalize, prices may stay high for awhile. Covid is not going away, masks are here to stay. Restaurants, bars, ball games, etc… are a thing of the past. China is going to be on lockdown again or already is. Buy your toilet paper. Drive your vette like you stole it and enjoy it. Don’t keep it nice for the next buyer. I plan on giving mine to my kids when I want another vette. All these high prices are the new normal.

Lol wow, talk about fear ****.

Yes, it is going to normalize, it's taking more time than we'd like, but even Biden will eventually be gone.

Buy mine and so prices can start to drop.

But seriously, I will be putting my 99 FRC up shortly since I put a deposit down on a C8.

inflation is theft by government? I have some swampland to sell you. Apparently you will fall for anything. You actually subscribe to that junk for $175 a year?

I was in the same boat. Never did find one the way I wanted it equipped that wasn't overpriced. Now, today's prices make the ones from a couple of years back look like a bargain. Like you, I may never get one now...I still don't like any of the newer Vettes...

Sadly, it is probably true, at least as far as the masks are concerned. This Delta variant has been around for a couple 3 months now, and due to not enough people being vaccinated, it too will change/mutate soon. It's what viruses do. Don't want to hijack OPs thread, so enough of the virus talk. As for these prices, they will come down before long, especially when a C6 is a better deal, even though I prefer the C5. When that happens, the guy that was asking $30k for a 50,000 mile C5 Z06 and was offered $25k, will wish he took the $25k, instead of telling his buyer to scram......

Did you see if your Z was affected by the gas tank issue before purchasing it? Your VIN will give you an idea where you stand with it.

I found what you are referring to. It is within the vin numbers that had some issues. It's not leaking after 15 years, but I'll be happy with the deal still even if I need to fix it at some point.

The "clean low mileage well cared for/maintained" C5 is gonna continue to gently rise in popularity and monitory value as time progresses due to the.... C8..... Period!

I tend to agree. It's getting to the vintage where it's similar to the rise of the Chevy C10 square body. I decided to buy a C5 Z06 by choice, not necessity. I like the rawness, light weight, flip up lights, and it's starting to feel like a bit of a classic to me. It's just a bargain.

Like many who have chimed in, I was a C5 lover C6+ hater. But, because of the market (and my desire for another Corvette) I wound up purchasing a car that met my criteria (albeit with the crappy, constantly exposed and clouded headlights - gag). LS3, Atomic Orange, LT3, Z51... OMG, I am so glad I stepped outside of my stubborn, bullshit attitude. And what a deal it was for the performance, comfort and upgrade that you get (stereo aside).

I may yet buy another C5 Z06. It's sophisticated simplicity is was appealed to me the most. But, until then I can't imagine being in any kind of hurry and it will be hard to find a car that appeals to me as much as this surprisingly perky little C6 does.

Default New to me 50th anniversary edition

I sold my C3, 77 L48 documented 49k car and bought a 03 50th anniversary edition with 128k. I'm extremely happy that I got it for 9800. Extremely nice exterior and interior and new tires. Everything works like new. Heads up display and medium spiral gray metallic in color.

Default My mistake

I realize that this is not the actual Anniversary edition that is burgundy in color. I just meant it's the 50th anniversary of Corvette. Just wanted to fix this before it turns into a big mess. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and I mispoke.
