Loaned my vette
Loaned my baby to my son who is 47 for a week. Hope it comes back the way it left. First time letting anyone use it without me being in it. Meaning only my son. No one else. Always returns my boat in great shape. Fingers crossed.

If I loaned our son my '04 Vert for a week, it better come back as good if not better than what he left with it. That includes, full gas tank, an oil change, clean inside and outside and if not, he is out of the will!!!!

My vehicles are frequently loaned. Once my new Ram Hemi came back with a chip in the windshield. I got over it and insurance fixed it. All machines, insured, easily to replace My Miata and C5 have gone to Key West and Orlando with visiting northern friends. Returned with a full tank and a case of beer.

One of our sons took our '86 Riviera to his senior prom, and our other son to our '86 Corvette to his senior prom a year later. If there is anyone I would have confidence loaning a Corvette to, it is our sons.
You know your son better than any of us. If you felt comfortable loaning him your very nice C5, then that appears to be a sound decision!

Son states he likes driving the Vette but says he’s a truck guy. Likes sitting high and feels safer. His friends say the Vette is cool but not for him, truck all the way. Lol. And he’s no redneck trucker type at all. Will have it back in two days 😀👍.

I loaned mine to a friend I worked with for years. He loaned me his boat and his truck to pull it. I also handed him $1,000. If the person can back up what they do with cash then it can always be fixed.

Safety Car
Sounds like an admirable situation, congratulations on the fine bond with your son.
my mother taught me to share, and II still remember some of my angst over those long past early childhood events, so it couldn't have been easy. Having experienced the rewards of generosity, all my stuff is pretty much available for any friend with a good cause, I solidly pro fun. I can only hope they bring back a good story.
Perhaps if I had a car that I stressed over, things would be different.

Safety Car
One guy..... just one took off in my car without me (he is a good friend and an EVOC Instructor, had his wife with him....said go ahead, you dont need me :-) ).
But I have had a ton of people drive it with me in the car, I waited till I was 47 to drive one, what the hell..... all of my young nieces, many nephews, friends, wifey is checked out on it (but she can drive anything)..... its what its for.
