Default StuzVette in Mello Yello

I'm happy to be back...again... ...in Yellow!
After being away for a while, I decided to build another fun project C5...
Already begun to see that parts are slim pickin' but I'm looking forward to making this a fun build.

Yellow C5s are the best C5s.

I said what I said.

Yep...I always like yellow but never seemed to go that route more than a few times... had a 1968 yellow cougar (more creamy yellow) and a 1969 XKE Jaguar...now this Mello Yello...
...and I am in West Palm Beach...it had to be YELLER... so the build begins...slowly

So the plan was to work on the exterior in waves. There was lots of dirt in every crevice and difficult to get the 20 years of dirt cleaned off. Some of the work was to remove the ugly and see what was under it, like the corroded C5 emblems on front and back.

Hey Mike
Thanks!
I wondered when you would pipe in...
When I drove over to F Meyers to pick up my new project., I wondered if you still lived in Bonita Springs.
Maybe someday in the future, we'll get together for a cruise. Maybe Stuz Cruze will be revived !

Great to hear from you.

Peace...

That would be great Stu. I am still in Bonita Springs and look forward to it. Give me a call the next time you are in the area and stop by the house for a BBQ and a cruise.

Default Rear Window

I couldn't see out of the rear window because the 20 year old tint was bubbling up. Safety first.

The old is gone and the new tint is in...

I removed the first layer and the rest stuck to the glass solid... after steaming and 2-3hours the glass was clean and ready for Tint World to make it beautiful again.
In the last pic ...it is done and now I can see my trophy wall clearly...Now it's right...and I can now drive safely...except for my tires. That's coming...

I will give you a call... I visit my daughter and her husband and my 2 grandchildren in Northport, FL, just north of you, several times a year.

Thank you... not in a hurry but eager to see more. It just takes so long to do just 1 thing. That 1 thing always seems to grow into many more things in order to get that one thing done...

Must be a good feeling to be back in a C5 again, congrats on the new to you purchase. I love build threads so I'm subscribing to this one too. My daughter and her family just relocated from Florida last year. Fun state to visit for sure, just don't care for the gators to much.
