I love the music of Gunship while I cruise around. Particularly the songs Tech Noir and Woken Furies.

Ted Nugent and RUSH are also good

On long road trips with the top off, the song Liberation by the Pet Shop Boys is a good mood setter.

I have over 700 songs on my SD card and have it on shuffle....but my fav would have to be Aerosmith and then Van Halen with David.

I like pretty much all of the music mentioned, but I find myself enjoying the sound of the supercharger, blow off valve, and the rumble of the 402 stroker playing its tune more.
I put a killer stereo in my Vette a few years ago, but I very rarely use it.

Never heard Gunship. Interesting. Reminds me of Love & Rockets a bit. Anime in videos was cool too

Chris Canterbury is great for slow cruising if you like country with a blues feel.

I spent about two grand on a Kenwood system that I rarely turn on! The wind with the top down sounds pretty good for now.

This definitely isn't a playlist for everyone, but if you like hard rock I think you will generally like this playlist. Many great artists are notably absent (sorry AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd), but I wanted to throw some "variety" in here. If someone could update me on good rock music that has been made in the last decade I would also appreciate that, thank you. I was told rock is dead and I've yet to hear someone contradict that statement. Maybe some of these artists killed it?

Love Song - 311
Bloodwork - 36 Crazyfists
Man in the Box - Alice In Chains
Would? - Alice In Chains
R U Mine? - Arctic Monkeys
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
Antivist - Bring Me The Horizon
Lit Up - Buckcherry
Comedown - Bush
Comfort Eagle - Cake
Ain't No Rest for the Wicked - Cage The Elephant
Face to the Floor - Chevelle
Aw Naw - Chris Young
Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
Hippies and Cowboys - Cody Jinks
Loud and Heavy - Cody Jinks
Sleeping on the Blacktop - Colter Wall
Butterfly - Crazy Town
Colors - Crossfade
Black Sun - Death Cab for Cutie
Deny - Default
My Own Summer (Shove It) - Deftones
The New Black - Every Time I Die
A Little Bit Off - Five Finger Death Punch
Blue on Black - Five Finger Death Punch
Hard to See - Five Finger Death Punch
Leave It All Behind - Five Finger Death Punch
Wait - Earshot
Highway Tune - Greta Van Fleet
Crazed Country Rebel - Hank Williams III
You Wouldn't Know - HELLYEAH
Bloodfeather - Highly Suspect
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
Jackson, Missisippi - Kid Rock
Bound For The Floor - Local H
Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
Take Me To The Top - Motley Crue
How to Survive - Of Mice & Men
Jerry Was A Race Car Driver - Primus
Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
Famous - Puddle of Mudd
Psycho - Puddle of Mudd
Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen
Orange Cursh - R.E.M
Out of the Black - Royal Blood
Betray and Degrade - Seether
Country Song - Seether
Gasoline - Seether
Same Damn Life - Seether
Black - Sevendust (Acoustic is good too)
Praise - Sevendust
Tomorrow - Silverchair
Life is Beautiful - Sixx:A.M
Nightlight - Silversun Pickups
Fly To The Angels - Slaughter
It's Been Awhile - Staind
30/30-150 - Stone Sour
Through Glass - Stone Sour
The Working Hour - Tears For Fears
Stranglehold - Ted Nugent
Bad Girlfriend - Theory of a Deadman
One Thing Leads to Another - The Fixx
Cherub Rock - The Smashing Pumpkins
Reptillia - The Strokes
Icky Thump - The White Stripes
Eminence Front - The Who
Slither - Velvet Revolver
Can't Get Enough - Winger
Broken Window Serenade - Whiskey Myers
Heavy Is the Head - Zac Brown Band

That's why they call me 'full throttle'. I like a good time.

Always the contrarian, I’ll take a stab at it. Much like the evolution of the Corvette, music changes. Many of us get stuck in what we know and are comfortable with. We say things like: “That’s not a Corvette” and “that’s not Rock.” The C8 is mid-engined and some say that fundamentally changes what Corvettes are about and disqualifies it as such. Some see this as an evolution. I am of the latter opinion. While I do not get some music, I try to embrace the evolution and have evolved out of some of my narrow preferences. Chris Stapleton changed my whole view of “country music” and this old metal-head is hearing some great old and new stuff. My brother turned me on to Integral Theory which embraces evolution as a way to better understand the world. As for Rock, here’s a list to check out. Always great stuff we’ve never heard. Saw Raven Age open for Iron Maiden last year and they were pretty good.

Cruising (eg. going to the beach): chillwave/shoegaze/ambient electronic (Tycho, Washed Out, Beach House, etc.)

Spirited driving: Post-punk (The Smiths, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Modern English, etc.), post-punk revival (Interpol, The Bravery, DIIV, etc.), new wave (New Order, etc.), indie rock (Beach Fossils, etc.), or indie electronic (LCD Soundsystem, M83, Cut Copy, etc.).

Also perfectly content listening to the exhaust.

Many thanks to the person who wrote up the tutorial on the $3 AUX port mod for the stock head unit. Also many thanks to the person (Ltemple) who recently found an android touchscreen head unit that fits in the stock center console.
