Brought the Vette home today with 56 miles on the clock
A little back story; it was sold November 2, 2002 from El Monte Chevrolet for $62K with 11 miles on the odometer and titled. It still has the DMV sticker to authorize it to be driven on the street and El Monte Chevrolet paper plate on it as well. The car was parked, covered up and sat till yesterday. The owner was a collector who had 100+ cars and when he passed away this past April, the siblings began selling off the cars. They are now down to I believe 5.
When I uncovered it, I was amazed with what I saw. The tires were flat and did air up however has dry rot cracks, the rotors were rusted (should cleanup). I did check the oil and all fluids and looked ok. I switched out the old battery and installed a new one and asked the family when it was last started and they informed me several months ago but, didn't move it.. That being said, I rolled the dice and turned the key and it fired up. Tried the clutch and felt good so I put in reverse and moved it to load on the trailer.
The first photo is when I moved it to get it on the trailer. The rest are after I got it home. Going to change all the fluids, for sure get new tires, replace the hood insulation as well.
First moved, note the paper plate
Cover strip still in place
The statement
The hood insulation fell apart
Dealer Package
$10,000 dealer markup document
Unopened CD and VHS tape as well the remotes for the alarm and doors (which worked)
Window sticker

To answer the big question as "what did you pay for it" they were asking $28k and we settled for a lesser amount.
I was at the home to get a 39 Packard Twelve running and struck up a conversation with one of the siblings and after I got the Twelve running, we started further discussions and closed the deal. I wanted it out of there before anyone else heard about it.
Thanks for all the compliments.
Answer the other question, this will not be trailer/garage queen as we plan to drive it and have fun with it and keep the miles down. Not planning to flip it for now.

Wow lucky guy! Good find! That has got to be the lowest mileage C5 Z in the world! That gas must be real stale!

Wow, incredible find!
Will you store it, drive it or flip it?

Wow. A $10K markup, right off the bar. I don't feel bad for the original owner -- he or she could have driven the car and chose not to. Congratulations to you. Did the sellers happen to know how old the gas in the tank is? 18 year old gas would not be all that good to run through the pump and filter, even for short periods of time. Hopefully the gas is more recent than that, though it would seem unlikely at 56 miles.

I bought this for mine:

EDIT: looked closer and it appears yours uses a stubby antenna like most Z06s... my '01 Z06 uses a power antenna for whatever reason.
