1/4 mile/AutoX
MGW shifter, the most used !!!!! (although the stock exhaust sucked, and the wheels and tires sucked)

I agree with toys4life, if you want to go fast that is one of the best things you can do... I modded my car quite a bit before I went with a supercharger and was never really impressed, after the blower went on the car was transformed into a completely different animal which is exactly what I was looking for

I agree with the supercharger. I had a 2002 Z06 slightly modified to about 440 HP at the crank. I bought a 1991 that was pretty much stock except for a supercharger. It went from 250 crank HP to 375 HP. But the important thing was it made more HP and torque below 4500 RPM than the Z06 did, which was great for street use.

IDK, a car with only one mod wouldn't do anything for me but if performance is your goal I'd have to agree with upgrading the tires first & foremost

First off... who in their right mind would buy a C5 and then limit themselves to only "one mod"?
Either get a part time job... tell your mom you want your man card back... or take back the pants from your wife!
Now that your a man again.., you can afford five mods on your base C5 w/auto:
- Full exhaust
- CIA
- 3.73 rear gear
- Tune
- Tires

Assuming it has 3.15 gearing:
LS3 or LS7
More realistically? A cam or 243 heads.
While not performance in terms of HP, the most money-to-fun ratio would have been my thicker sway bars
