2002 brake fluid reservoir
i cant seem to find anywhere that sells just the reservoir by itself. i can, however, find a million places that sell a c4 reservoir by itself. my question is, will a c4 reservoir fit a c5? they look very similar.and if not, does anyone know where i can find the proper reservoir only?

Could be. Website has this info:
Spare Part Information
This is a reservoir kit, brake master cylinder (with grommet) (*kit1) (acdelco #19209245), for Chevrolet, and Cadillac automobiles. It fits for Chevrolet Corvette, and Corvette, Cadillac XLR for the U.S. from 1997 to 2008. It's a genuine General Motors part with an OEM part number 19209245, and corresponding ACDelco part number 19209245.

Gm says it’s discontinued and only for the c6.

My point of reference, is that I bought a new coolant reservoir for my wife's 2009 Jaguar, this past fall, as I was doing a coolant hose swap, and the tank, as well as the thermostat housing, are plastic. The coolant reservoir was only $45-50, and that was including a sensor for the coolant level, that's part of the tank.....

You can get complete brake MC assemblies for $70.
Just replace the damn thing and stop futzing around with trying to find a reservoir.

My luck with Dorman parts is much better than with Delco. I've used Dorman alternators, brake MCs, clutch MCs, slave cylinders, etc. etc. on multiple cars and I've yet to have a single problem out of them.

And you really should know that it's your opinion which is the minority. Simply do a Google search, "are dorman parts any good", and you'll see the vast majority of comments are positive. In fact, I had to go to the 2nd page of results before I found a single negative comment. But here's the kicker, after that negative comment was posted a Dorman rep responded to it, gave the guy who had a problem with their part a $250 credit, and claimed that they were going fix the design of said part.

Soooooo yeah, you REALLY are the minority here with your highly negative opinion.
