Default Tubing for Modified Ranger Method

Want to try the modified Ranger Method on my clutch fluid. Tried to find the 1/8” OD tubing and having trouble finding it. Found some 0.140 OD at a Hobby shop. Does anyone know the Max OD that can be used or any info on a syringe/ tubing combo that can be purchased as a single unit that will work??

thanks

Any regular large syringe should work. Change the initial fluid, drive around for a bit, change again. Can be done of a few days.

By modified, are you talking about getting tubing to suck even more fluid out of the line itself? Are you sure that won't risk introducing air into the line? I don't see why the normal Ranger method wouldn't accomplish the job without the risk...?

Agreed!!! Bad idea to attempt to get it out of the line and risk air. Either use the normal method or change to a speed bleeder.

This modified method doesn’t suck anything out of the line, rather it forces new fluid into the line, if I understand the process correctly.

That is correct. Do a search for modified ranger method and it will have the details. New fluid is placed in the line.

How bout some mild steel brake line type tubing, take the rubber stuff out of the equation. Bet the clutches work more precise may just do this myself.

When old brake lines go bad thebrake pedal sinks (lines swell)so....all this flushing I think is nonsense No car requires that all the time its something else.

Just did the Clutch fluid. Found the 1/8th tubing at O'Reiley. Did it just like the mod ranger thread described. All it is , is replacing the dirty fluid. Mine wasn't so bad since the clutch was replaced when I bought the car a year and a half ago. I don't daily drive it, so not many miles. But it was a little dirty, and in some of the Youtube videos it was black. I'll just keep an eye on it once in a while. It was the easiest thing I've done to the car so far.

Fitted the syringe to the autometer 1/8" OD tubing -- Works great with a 1" section of windshield washer hose as an adapter.
