When can I wax this car? It was apparently not waxed by the dealer, but had the standard white goop on it from GM. I know very little about zaino but hear its good. Are there different stages of Zaino?? 1, 2?? Anything wrong with a simple bottle of meguiars wax??

Paul, whatever product you use just make sure that it contains no abrasives (most products contain abrasives) Carnauba products will last about 4 weeks, longer if your car is a garage queen and much shorter if your car is a daily driver, synthetic products will last about 4 times longer than carnauba products, most synthetics do not contain oils like carnauba products, what this means is that wash after wash you car will look the same, with carnauba products as you wash your car you wash the oils away, which in term washes the shine away.

nothing wrong with Meguiars wax - it will look very good. But like Carl says - waxes wash away pretty quickly. I used to use Mothers California Gold paste and Meguiars Gold Class - both worked very well. I made the switch to Zaino on white, and Pinnacle Souveran on black. If your car is any color but black - I wholeheartedly recommend Zaino, it cannot be beat. It looks outstanding - and washing doesn't phase it. If it's black - I think carnauba does a better job. Zaino looked good, but not great like I expected. The Souveran gets the nod for black, but it's not very durable. :seeya

427 I have used Zymol and on a Black Vette and it looks great , NOTHING and I mean NOTHING hides all the swirl marks even Zaino which is a great product also. Try the Zymol see what you think?? :yesnod:

Zaino this and Zaino that. I swear you guys cook with the stuff. While it is a good product, and I have used it before, I like a good high quality carnauba. Yes it is true it doesn't last as long as Zaino but when was the last time you left your Vette for 4 months without a wax job anyway. IT is also true it collects more dudt than a synthetic but I just love the shine....

Since my car is not a daily driver I gues I can afford the extra work carnauba's take.
