Whoa Kemosabe. Don't be jumping to conclusions. Not only have I done the Dragon twice, but I've also done the Alaska hiway three times. Twice on my bike, another by motorhome. Been across the country on the bike 4 times racking up over 32,000 just on those 4 trips. Taken the Vette to Nova Scotia, Nawlins', Key West and too many other destinations to count. Add in the Dragons over 600 curves on my two trips there, I've made a few left and right turns in my day.

Did the dragon last November with a couple of S2k friends.
What was cool was temps were in the 50s to 60s, but at the top of the mountain in the morning, it was 20's! Made for some interesting scenery.

I have done the Dragon twice and I must say the second time around was as much fun as the first time. I plan on doing a return trip each year just to do the Dragon. My last trip there back in June I did the Cherahola Parkway and another at the end of that one which I can't think of the name right now but when I got done with the last one I ended up in Tapolo or something like that maybe you guys who live near ca advise on the town I ended up in. Anyway the Dragon is a blast to drive.

We've done the dragon a couple of times in our Z. Once in the fall which was pretty neat as I could see through the trees to the next turn.
The best trip was with our club - about 15 cars/couples made the trip. There was a lot of talk and the plan was for the wives to drive part of the Dragon....proud to say my wife was the only spouse to conquer the dragon that day! Also pretty neat to "do the dragon" from the passenger seat!

Made my first trip two weeks ago. What a blast. Beautiful day, top down and not much traffic. Except for the Centurion Run group that at times thought they owned the road. Nothing major though. Will definitely do it again.

The last few years, Corvette EXPO was held in Loudon Tennessee which is nearby. On Friday evening after EXPO, we would do the dragon. I was tasked with organizing a group tour and loved it. We always had a police escort up to the foot of the dragon, and I led the group, believe me, the cops in front of me would not let any grass grow under their tires. I reached speeds over 90 MPH at times. There will not be a fall EXPO this year, so no dragon tour. We've had in excess of 400 Vettes doing the dragon at one time. Every generation was represented. It was a blast, but times change. Last year, I was in the hospital (heart surgery) during EXPO, so they did the last one without me.

I posted above about running the Dragon in the fall and being able to "see through the trees" to the next turn...stumbled across this picture from that run while looking for another non-Corvette picture for a work project...I'm easily distracted, LOL!
