Default Fuel Line Retainer Clip...help

I removed by aftermarket fuel rails and reinstalled the factory lines. I apparently lost one of the metal fuel line retainer clips at some point. It looks like this:

All I can seem to find online this morning is a Dorman plastic clip like this:

Will this work just as good, or should I keep looking for the factory style? Is it safe to drive the car without this retainer clip, certainly don't want to have the line come loose and cause an engine fire.

Or try contacting one of the used parts vendors here on the forum and see if they have one in stock.

So interesting...I just checked Vettenuts.net and he has the fuel line itself and the picture only shows one clip, not two. Am I not really missing one? I thought there was a retainer on both ends, but now I am wondering if I am okay?

Can someone take a quick peak and see if you have a clip on both ends of your lines, or just one. I've been doing some searches and even revisited Mark's (ToqueZ06) site and it appears perhaps the clip is only on the fuel rail side. Nothing at the firewall connection, which is how I have it now.

This post has me a bit worried. Looked at my fuel line (2000) and don't see any retainer clips!? can someone post a photo of what this is supposed to look like? Much appreciated!

Thanks! Confirms that I am missing these and I know exactly who to talk to about that. It would be the guy who changed the intake for me! Reinforces my growing belief that I need to do most if not all work myself. Jeesh.

True, but for $7 it was worth the piece of mind for me. I also currently have the car listed for sale and would like to know it is ready for the next owner without concerns.
