Looking for 12V tire inflator suggestions...
Hi Folks, Just looking for advice on what you carry in the Vette for a 12 volt compressor tire pump, Thanx!

What is your purpose for having one? If you autocross/HPDE time is not that important as You can set it on a tire and within a few minutes put 10 lbs in any tire. IF you want it to fix a puncture you need a good pump, like above, slime and a patch kit. I carry those but with the slower pump since I autocross and run 25/24 cold pressures on the course and 30lb on the road. In the last 16 years I have never had a flat tire other than when I was running Hoosiers A6 and drove to a local event.

Thyat VIAIR unit looks like it would work great, but I would suggest finding a small compressor that has an air line that you can clamp to the valve stem. If you do have a flat, with no way to clamp the air hose to the stem, you would have to be bent over and kneeling until there is enough air in the tire to be able to drive the car. On a cold and rainy night, that would be a PITA to have to deal with.
Certainly, a can of Slime and a plug kit are good items to have in the car. And your cell phone should always be charged up so that you can call AAA to have them deal with a flat tire. Most wreckers that respond to AAA service calls will have a compressor that can fill a tire to the recommended air pressure in just a minute or less.

I bought a Campbell-Hausfield compressor from Wal-Mart and it has done the job for me.

I have the Ryobi inflator, it's great esp. at a price of $20 and you already have a Ryobi battery from their other tools.

I carry a Kensun 12v compressor. My choice was made taking into consideration price, compactness, and ability to inflate, all of which it ticks the boxes fairly well.

I bought a Husky brand compressor, not sure where I bought it. I have gone through several inflators, some of them don't last very long. I use mine constantly to inflate the retractable landing gear on my giant scale RC warbirds so if they don't last, it doesn't take long to find out.
The Husky has been in use for almost two years with no problems, bad ones don't last a month in my hands. One of them I got from Walmart didn't last 5 minutes (it was a closeout, now I know why). The Husky comes in a travel bag that carries its various inflator adaptors. I have to modify the power cable to use with my RC ground power batteries, It has to be changed back to the original cigarette lighter plug for use in the Vette, I used 'T' plugs, available from hobby shops, this plug can handle high current with no losses.

Griots (i got the whole kit-comes in a nice cool red and black bag which matches the car-thats the most important thing!)
ps-got it as a gift from a relative. Wouldn't have ponied up that much money for it (would have pieced my own together), but it is pretty sweet to have everything you need in a nice little bag with extra pockets for other safety/repair stuff

All the inflators are made in China and carry different brands and different prices. Look on ebay.
