New owner
Just introducing myself as an excited new owner. When i was 13 the c5 was my dream car, had the 50th anniversary rc car from radio shack. I have had close to 30 cars in last 10 years, trying out every interesting car i could, noteworthy ones were a 99 m3, track modded 260z, chrysler crossfire, lindsey racing 944 turbo. I recently decided to sell my first car ive had 10 years, a 67 barracuda fasback that ive put a lot of time and money into but don't have the heart for it anymore. Been wanting something newer and lower maintenance i could get in and enjoy. I work long weeks and don't have the time and energy for the mopar. shopped for couple months and finally found a c5 that hits all my needs well within my budget . 2001 black on black, 6 speed manual, HUD, 103k miles. They were asking 14k, hud display "didnt work", climate control display didnt work, interior plastic trim pieces broken all over the place. Got em down to 12500 which isnt a great deal but its the exact car i wanted and only one i found within 500 miles. I scoured these forums and saw all the problems i found were common and easy fixes. I picked it up Wednesday, was the first time i ever sat in a vette and i loved it immediately. Yesterday i took the dash all apart, resoldered the climate control, put a new pin in the HUD, both fixes worked like a charm! Love the detailed information i have found on this forum. O
bviously everyone knows what it looks like but here's a pic anyways!

oh im sure I'll miss it, but as far as driving experience the vette is more what im after, and if i could have afforded it at the time i would've done a vette instead of the barracuda.

Congrats on the purchase of a good looking C5. BTW, I went through some missing part issues and a damaged rear compartment carpet. I found one of the forum junk/bone yards to be very helpful and cost effective. I can't remember their name but they are located in Michigan and had quite a few C5s back then.

That's a nice looking C5 there. It doesn't look like it's got 103k on the odometer. Welcome to the forum!
