Hard to let go...........
Well after 17 yrs of owning my 2000 coupe I'm a little sad to say I am no longer a vette owner. Had some great times with the old girl but she had 127k on her and was showing her age. Body was still excellent engine still strong but the gremlins that plague the C5 were more than I wanted to deal with. I dealt with every issue {thanks to this forum} and always resolved the problem. Older now not really wanting to spend a lot of time under a car fixing crap.
Still love vettes and might own another one someday but for now I am driving a 2015 MUSTANG GT PREMIMUM WITH THE GT PERFORMANCE PACKAGE . Its not a vette but the creature comforts are pretty cool for a guy coming out of a 17 year old car. Still keep an eye on the forum just in case a vette catches my interest.
This FORUM is great and thanks to everyone that post helpful ideas.

Congrats on 17 years and 127k miles. Good luck with the Mustang GT, they're nice cars.
Just send me you're MCM hood and I will hold onto it for you. I will wrap it in 3M Color Match Black, you know, to protect the paint.

Had to be a tough decision to let the car go. Hope you do get back into a Corvette some day, but best of luck with the Mustang. That is a very nice car also.

Know how you feel Just went from a C4 to a C5. Had the C4 for 22 years & she never let me down. She went to a good home, but I still miss the idiosyncrasies of that particular Vette.

I've made the same type of change before and always found my way back to Vettes. Important thing is for you to do what you feel is right for you.
Best wishes.

At one point this year, I had enough in cash to buy a new C7Z, but I thought a kitchen remodel made more sense, so I kept my C5, I just added nav and i'm going to reupholster it again. I don't need the HP of a C7Z and now I can enjoy most of the new features it would have with my double din unit. Enjoy the coyote though, it's a great car and a nice upgrade from a C5. When C7s are cheaper, maybe trade it in!
