Default Corvette museum/plant tour

Just curious how many of you have gone, and how long it takes to go through both. Can you do it all in one day? I will for sure be going sometime, but the fact that they don't have the tours on the weekends is making it difficult for me. I will have to take 3 days off to do it if everything can be seen in one day, longer if not. I will also need a day off for each day driving there and back.

I have been on the plant tour twice. The tour itself doesn't take much more than an hour but depends on the number of questions the guide has to answer. The wait time for the tour can take a while. There is a maximum number of people allowed in a tour group so you might have to wait for a second group to form. I've been to the museum about 5 times now. Time spent there depends on how much you stop and read about each item on display. The first time I went it took me 2 hours, subsequent tours about an hour and a half. Tip on the factory tour, get there early in there day then go to the museum. Both are well worth the trip. Also a member of my Corvette club said the plant is being refurbished starting sometime early summer and will not be open to the public for 15 months.

Cool, sounds like both can be done in a day, but it also sounds like it'll have to be next year considering the upcoming renovation...

Plant tour is scheduled for one hour, and I would recommend going online and making a reservation if you know when you'll be there. Remember, the plant tours will be closing I think sometime in June - there is a thread on it in here.

The museum can last as long as you want it to - take your time and look at all the stuff they have there. You'll learn a lot about the history of the Corvette. While there, consider joining the Museum as a member - tax deductible and supports a great organization.

Both in the same day for me too. I did the plant tour first early morning then straight over to the museum. I had plenty of time to see everything.

I signed up for a HPDI on Saturday, Museum on Sunday and the Plant tour on Monday. The next day on the way home (central North Dakota) me and my son plan to stop at Indianapolis and catch practice for the Indy 500.
