Finally got rid of my Run Flats...and wow
- two weeks ago I finally got rid of my Michelin run flats. It was time. They were close to the end of life.
I went with the Firestone Firehawk Indie 500s after reading up about a dozen different tire options. It was clear to me that these tires would be the right choice and HOLY CRAP! They have transformed my C5!
Quiet!
Fast!
Inexpensive!
Handling and steering are more precise!
i will never go back to run flats.
On that note, my 2016 BMW 5 Series has run flat goodyears. I didn't realize until after I leased the car. If you get a nail in those tires they cost $400 each

86'd run flats on my Corvette & Cadillac ATS. Put on Yokohama's and never looked back. I have a Fix-A-Flat with a air inflator in both cars. I also have FMCA Roadside Assistance.

Are we replacing run flats over non run flats? Just for the cost savings?or performance.? I've got run flats now and have auto crossed with them.with out loosing any unexpected grip, only time they got slightly Loose was when I expected them to do it.

I do not track or autocross my car so I cannot comment on that.

Congrats. The NON-run flats will ride so much better. Also, invest in a decent portable air compressor and plug kit to put in one of the rear wells. I used the same concept for touring on my motorcycles. They will come in handy.

I am hearing how much better these cars are going from old run flats to new non run flats. Well let me tell you how nice it is going from old run flats to new run flats. Just put on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ZP And replaced the Michelin PS A/S after 7 years and still had over 5 3/2 of tread left. Like day and night.

About three years ago, I also ditched the runflats. Went with BFGoodrich g-force T/A KDW-2. Was amazed at the difference. Around $850 for the set. See them on a variety of cars; street rods, hot rods, autocross cars, etc.

I can't believe how much better the car feels.

Good move getting the non-runflats. They certainly made a huge difference on my car.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP Ultra High Performance Run-Flats. 1,093.17 out the door. 30000 mile warranty. replaced my tpms. Costco. Not bad compared to some of the prices of the non run flats i see. Probably the best run flat on the market today.
