Vette vs deer. Could have been a lot worse. Headlite took the brunt of the impact but it also got in to the hood and fender. I'm guessing if it hadn't hit the headlight the deer would have come up the fender/hood and into the windshield.
Good thing for insurance and a no deductible policy.

I'm glad it wasn't any worse. Hope the repair goes smoothly.

I am guessing the lights were on? If so there is another reason to have hide away headlights...lol.

Yep...lights were on. I would love to convert the lights. Wonder if I could finnaggle one thru the repair shop? Are the C6 style light conversions pricey? Cheaper than all the factory gizmos and mechanisms for the stock lights?
The ones with the 2 bubble looking things over each light doesn't trip my trigger. Seems like I've noticed a low profile kit from somewhere but can't remember.

Well that sucks however it really doesn't look so bad. But a rock chip on our babies is bad to us. A great shop will make it better than new.

This happened on my way to work in Nov. 1973. That day I left my first Corvette (1968) at home and drove the Dodge. Bambi lost, almost no damage to the Dodge

I haven't opened the hood yet. Gonna wait and let the shop do that. Fender to hood gap on drivers side is gapped open and the hood is loose in the latch up at the cowl on drivers side. Can see it vibrating going down the road.
Service ABS light came on a couple of times today and the traction control/active handling has too. Not sure what's up with that. Didn't run over the deer...the headlight just knocked it out of the way.

Sorry about your car, a deer slammed into my vette back in the fall, that was my first accident and I am 31 years old. I hated it so much. Hopefully your car will have a speedy recovery.

LOL, that's what I thought! I would say for hitting a deer, you were pretty lucky.

Ahhh man...that totally sucks man :/ I know exactly how you feel. Be careful choosing a body shop. Ask around the forum from your local area thread for known quantities. I picked a place I thought was good after I hit a deer last year, and they told me 1 week, and it turned out to be more than 4 missed the big Corvette only car show that year because of it.

Good luck with the fix!

First of all, glad you were not injured. Just from the pic, it doesn't look too bad, and hopefully it turns out that way once the body shop has a chance to really look the car over. Best of luck with the repair.

Oh man!!! Could have been so much worse. When I was working on a PD up north I saw a lot of really bad accidents involving deer. Also lost a good friend when a buck bolted into the road in front of him and cleaned him off his scooter. Good luck with your repair!
