Had to get my ZO6 towed to the Dealer yesterday!!!!!!
I was on my way home and I went to shift from 4th to 5th and the shifter would not come out of 4th. This was under normal driving conditions...I was not ******* the car. I eventually got the shifter out of 4th but then it would not go into any gear!!!!! About a week ago it felt like it did not want to shift from 4th under hard acceleration but I thought it was in my head. The car only has 2600 miles on it. Any ideals??? Do yall think Chevy will repair the tranny or replace it??
Thanks alot Mike
Thanks alot Mike

Just out of curiosity.... Have you "dogged" the car... or taken it pretty easy overall?

Re: Had to get my ZO6 towed to the Dealer yesterday!!!!!! (Z06-Nomad)
The car is a weekend car so I do not put a lot of miles on it, but when I do drive it I drive it hard. I never pop the clutch.
Thanks Mike

Lets hope Chevy gets a clue with the C6 and has Getrag provide the trannys. This German company makes trannys for car companies all over the world. They make the best manual trannys out there. The 6spd tranny in both the awd skyline and the supra has proven its self to be insanely durable. Nobody has any problems with them what so ever untill they start doing 600rwhp+ launches on slicks. With just drag radials on the car these tranny's have proved durable to well over 1000 to the ground. The Titan Motorsports supra is still using the stock gettrag 6spd and is running 9 flat just a hair under 170mph. I think they have broken a few rear ends but the tranny is still holding strong.

Well Chevy is going to replace my tranny :) The only thing that scares me is how a tranny with 2400 miles on it could grenade that soon.
The service advisor is pretty clueless.......so I'm going to the dealer to talk to the tech to get some more information on what caused my transmission to fail.
Thanks Mike

169,
What I said........."Replace''................ ;)
There is an issue with the NEW '02 trannies......
GM, has instructed their TECHS to keep "MUM" about it...
Supposedly, all that was changed from the '01 Z M12, was the synchros...
I am not so sure......... :bs
