They are so cheap you wont believe it. To clarify cat back is a style and not a brand, right? I am referring to a style of exhaust system/components. Here is one of many similarly priced items on Ebay.

Yes, cat back is a style, meaning it denotes what section of the exhaust (behind the cat). Technically this would be called an axle back system, but we know what you mean.
All those offshore systems are hit or miss in terms of fitment, materials of construction, and sound. Some Chinese stuff works great and really is affordable like the XS Power Longtube headers, other times you get junk for your hard earned money. Only way to find out is to try the system out.
What sound are you looking to achieve? It might be better to shop based on what sound you're looking for, rather than shopping based on a budget.
The Z06 Titanium factory exhaust is a very popular modification for all C5s and gives a nice sound. Usually goes for $450 used.

I can only comment from pics I've seen posted here on CF. In most cases the tips appear to be "twisted", just not straight. Looking at that everyday on my car would drive me nuts regardless of my financial investment.

I think it has been shown that these Extreme-o Cheap-o Ebay Catback exhaust system are not a terrible choice. They seem to work well, sound good, they seem well made, and they look good under the car. Some say these are DNA brand products. I don't know. But, when it is time for me to upgrade my exhaust, and if my budget is tight, I will consider these catbacks for my C5.

I've purchased one "cheapo" ebay exhaust for my GTI. I actually like the way it sounds and it appears to be full stainless. However, I will say that don't expect a perfect fit when you pay next to nothing. I had to have mine modified slightly to get the tips to line up...
For those interested you can check the link below
This same company offers a stainless X-pipe for the C5 for around $250

The big problem with Chinese cheapos, is the chances of having a perfect product is very slim.. there are little things that make the consumer wish they bought something better, but don't want to spend the money for what they should have bought in the first place, so they suck it up and figure out how to live with it,, and part of that is to get others to buy into the same system so they can have support from other purchasers.
Rarely will you get a system that is worth 800 or 1200 dollars for 400 dollars.. since these systems have NO, 0, Nadda, quality control, your purchase is a roll of the dice with the odds against you.
That particular yellow C5 sounded great, but after a year of condensation, expansion and contraction, will the internals of the mufflers rust out or start to rattle internally ?...My 1200 dollars system has served me well over the last 16 years, I could sell them tomorrow for 800 dollars.... there is a reason for that.

Just my opinion.

I've seen some good reviews. And I believe that even in the above link.. they guy had to spend an additional 250 dollars to make them work and look acceptable.

I said in my last post that no one is expecting $1500.00 fitment for less than $400.00. If it is good enough, then so be it.
This line of conversation about products and price can be seen in every forum, and about every conceivable product. Not everyone has the greenbacks for that so-called best, perfect, be-all product. We should respect where people are in their condition and financial position. Poo-pooing the decisions of others is not help. I am on Glock forums, AR forums, and reloading forums and every one of them has people diminishing the choices of others without understanding how and why people make the spending decisions they make. Why not simply help people where they are now? Surly, they will make the choices we want them to when they are able, or not.

Well the price is right. Atleast I wont have to sell my corvette to pay for a catback....
I bought a cheapo catback for my 370Z, it sounded just like the pricey units but the fitment wasn't 100%.
I'd imagine at $335 there is a bit of give and take and if I had to pay an exhaust shop an extra $200 to get it to fit right I'd still be 1/3 of the cost of some of the other exhausts on the market. And then it would just have to last more than a few years lol

When buying budget exhaust you can come across issues, so it is a crap shoot. I installed a budget catback on my car. The granatelli exhaust at the time. It was $450.00 shipped to my door. Quality is good, fitment as well is good. An exhaust to compare it too would be the borla stingers. 10 years later they are still on the car. Look and sound as good as the day they were put on. Wouldn't want to change them out with anything else out there. So it can work out fine.
Big issue I have with the exhaust in this thread is they are probably shipped from china. So if someone did buy them you would be stuck with them. I could only imagine the shipping cost to return them to china. Also the fitment looks terrible in the posted video. Just for kicks I did a search on google for "budget c5 corvette exhaust" and came up with quite a few budget (under $400.00) exhausts for c5 corvettes. One that is only a few miles from me. And that exhaust looks better than what is shown here (round tips as well).
The big thing is this exhaust is sold and shipped here in the US, so if something was wrong and had to be shipped back, it would be easier and way less costly. Also more likely to get support.
