The wife and I have been eyeing the altitude edition GC and will probably get one later this year for her. Definitely sharp interiors.

With mine, I bought the 'Maxcare' warranty. Basically, it's a lifetime warranty, for as long as I own the Jeep, and any repair has only a $100 deductible.
My wife and I bought a new 2016 75th AE this past November after I totaled her 2016 CX-5 (not my fault, second not at fault total loss that year, don't ask) and did the $200 deductible plan. I negotiated it into the deal and it's a good piece of mind, since I anticipate running into issues sooner versus later. She absolutely loves it and I do enjoy driving it, so I'm pleased with it. We got our first CEL @ 1,500 miles but so be it.

The Maxcare warranty is a brilliant idea, I'm sure if more manufacturers offered it, you'd see more sales, although I am curious how they do or don't lose money on the plans. I feel like a few small repairs and I'll have broken even.

But not as good as the '95 desert storm Hummer H1 I had.
That was unstoppable, even in 4-5 ft. of snow, and was my DD for 3 years. Aside from being slow off the line and heavy (6800 lbs.), it handled great, was very comfortable and could go anywhere. Got lots of stares and looks and compliments everywhere. The only negative thing was getting 7-8 mpg with the gas Chevy 454 engine and full time 4WD.

I personally don't like it and they changed back to the regular shifter on the 2016 models.
Hope yours is the exception to the rule but the list of TSB's on Jeeps over the last 10 years is staggering. My lead tech finally gave into his wife because she wanted one so bad (he is a GM guy) and its been one thing after another on a very low mileage Wrangler. Not the same I know but fingers crossed for you.

Wrangler is the cheap bro truck of Jeep. The Grand Cherokee is the well appointed setup and flagship. They compete in different spaces.

I saw the title and thought it meant a real jeep, not a station wagon.

I wouldn't mind taking one of those out. Just to see if it can handle some 4x4 but most won't. It looks nice but it's no wrangler if you meant "real jeep" here is mine

Yeah, I can see where that WOULD be a bit of a negative!! My GC has the 5.7 litre Hemi, and the full time 4WD. I average about 16 MPG (13-14 around town, 23-24 on the highway).
