Default best quality replacement seat covers

Those that have re-done the seat covers and foam, where did you get the covers and foam and how has it held up? How much did you pay? How is the quality? I have seen the stuff in the MAM magazines but wondering if there is better quality somewhere else. Thinking of redoing the seats in my dads 115k mile 99. They are starting to show their age and the foam is pretty collapsed.

TIA!

While waiting for a reply....do a google search. You will get direct answers to your questions. Tons of info on this subject. I've redone mine several years ago. PM me with any direct questions.

Default Best quality is a vague question

Best material quality, or best for longevity, real leather, look, feel, softness, lots of types from virgin Italian leather, to automotive vinyl. Some leather skins are 2000 dollars a 1/2 hide. Some automotive leathers are 2 dollars a yard.

The first question I would ask you is " What is your budget"? "
You can buy seat skins for 600 dollars for a C5 and you can find them here for 3000 dollars. And anywhere in between. So rather then me telling you what I have. What's in your wallet ?

This is some recent photos of mine. 14 years old, 80,000 miles of seat time. These cost 1000 dollars 14 years ago.7 pieces. 2 sports seats, shifter boot, ebrake boot, 2 door handles, grab bar, traction control surround panel

When I was looking for different seat covers, I shopped around and in the end went with a set from Vette Essentials. Top quality leather, excellent craftsmanship and a perfect fit. Cost was $2K for the set.

The covers have been installed for seven years and they still look like new.

I would rather listen to the experience of the users of this forum vs Google, which is why I asked!

I don't really have a budget in mind. I'm not a person that goes the cheapest route if i'm going to do something, but I don't need to spend $3000 either. I'm looking for longevity while using a better, more real feeling leather than the stock material if you know what I mean. What did you use in your car?

Received within 2 weeks of ordering
Hope to install soon as the car is in the garage for winter storage.
Stiching and leather is excellent
I paid $935 shipped for the sport seat foam, Evo seat covers and 4 pc boot kit!

I couldn't justify vette essentials prices

He meant to search the forum, where these questions have been asked before and discussed at length, not google.

I got my covers from Interior Innovations. While many people prefer full leather, I've never liked the wrinkles that come over time.

That being said said mine were synthetic with genuine leather inserts. I've had them installed (did it myself) for three years now and they look just as good as the did the day I put them in.

And...if price is a factor for you...I got the covers and a console cover to match for $400 out the door...

Cant beat them with a stick... however, I just went to their site and for what you have. they show 530.00 for the seats
seat foam is 250 dollars both seats
Console kit 215.00
Total 995.00

I negotiated a package price with them. It was $400 for everything (no foam). But that WAS a few years ago.

Yes I understand...I was just posting today 1/28/2017 pricing. which is still a good deal, I paid almost exactly 900 dollars, with no foam, 12 years ago. From Mid America. I have not complaints. I put about 80,000 miles on those skins and they still look good.

I think they're the ones I'd get too if I ever need them. A couple thousand dollars for seat covers for a $18,000 car doesn't register to me just yet

Another vote for Vette Essentials. I did new foam, seat covers, brake boot/handle, console cover, and shift boot/****. Cost was about $2K and it looks great. Besides the great quality, the people at Vette Essentials are great to work with.

I replaced mine about 8 years ago. After doing my research, it came down to a decision between VetteEssentials and Caravaggio - both in the $2,000+ range. For me, the reason I was willing to spend that much, is because my plan was to keep my C5 forever (if possible). If I saw myself selling the car in a few years or less, I would have gone a cheaper route.

My final choice was VetteEssentials. My C5 is my only car and 8 years later these VE seats show no wear and they used materials and embroidery that I custom specified at no extra charge. This is what they looked like right after I installed them before I finished steaming all the wrinkles out...
