No, but in Orlando you do have oppressive heat/humidity, hurricanes & tropical storms, not much scenery, no mountains, flooded streets on occasion, too much traffic and plenty of old/slow drivers. Lived there, suffered that.

I'm in NC right on SC line and it's 29 right now with freezing rain expected tonight and tomorrow. Thunderstorms Sunday with temps at 61! I'm further south than you in VA and you're warmer than me! Hmmm.....something's not right with this picture!

I did 47 years in Taxylvania, dreading October until May every year, until I relocated to Florida 10 years ago
when I told life-long friends of my decision, they all tried to scare me into staying incarcerated el Norte, saying "a hurricane will come-along, and you'll be dead in 3 days"
my reply was "better-that, than staying here, cooped-up and looking out the window, with the race car in storage 6 months a year, with little reason to go-on"

Rain here tonight and tomorrow but sunny thereafter. And, yes, contrary to popular belief, I doesn't never rain in California.
I lived in South Florida (Miami/Ft. Laud.) for 17 years and never, ever acclimated to the humidity. I visited Tampa for 3 days a couple of years ago after a long absence and realized why I could never live there again. I love SoCal's lack of humidity - perfect most of the time.

Destin is like a second home for us, wife and I've been going there for vacation since the late 70's (Jetty East). I'd move there from NW GA in a heartbeat. It was 68 this morning when I went out for the paper about 7:30, now it's 50, supposed to be in the upper 20's tonight. BUT..still better than snow!
I was in that area with my parents about 1974, dad was looking at a retirement town home where they were planning on building a golf course. There was pretty much nothing there at the time. It was right by the area where hwy 98 got wiped out by a hurricane (now scenic 98). Unfortunately he didn't buy in. Seeing the changes in that area over the years has been amazing.

Everyone, well most everyone, loves where they live because that is where they live! I live in and love Florida. And, I love its four seasons, Summer, Tourist, Love Bug, and Hurricane. It is all good no matter where you choose to live. It is when it’s not your choice that things turn ugly.
