I don't think it's really fighting vs passionate about what you like or can afford. I love the look of the C 5 and not the C 6 and cannot afford a C 7 !!!!

I've read through all the post up to this point and when I ran across this one I about fell out my chair. Cruel but spot on

SFC Rick you have to admit RSbeast's comment was a good one.

Lol, you must be young. I only pay $473/year for my C7. It's not a daily driver but still.

Count me in! I had a photo of the C7 on my fridge for over a year thinking I'd get warm to it -- I didn't. I checked C7s out at two dealerships -- still nothing. After every hopeful try, it still looks like it's aimed at 15 year old gamers and the "Hey, look at me!" crowd. Just hit 40K miles on my C5, and looking forward to 40K more!

(65)young only when I'm driving my 99, which costs me 430 for 6 months, and my DD driver is another 400 for 6 months. I have no tickets or accidents in over 10 years. My Vette costs me 17 a month during winter. And again the only C 7 I would have is a Black ZO 6 !!! way over what I can afford. So when it comes down to it I can have a Corvette as long as I can afford it, and I love my C 5 !!!

I don't understand this, you honestly kept a picture of a car you don't like on your refrigerator hoping to get warmed up to it? This seems like bs to me. If it's not I'm sorry but I still don't get why one would do this.

Oh and just owning a Vette puts you in the "hey, look at me!" crowd for a large portion of our population.

I would take the C7 in a heartbeat. Not only that, I would take a showroom stock C5 over his car without thinking twice

Very true. I would prefer a clean slate just like you would. It's safe to say none of his mods tickle my fancy so his car has no value to me just like my truck has no value to you

Don't care in the least, I bought it because I wanted a fun car and it was much cheaper than a Chevelle. I was just pointing out something people say about vette owners in general that is not exclusive to the C7.

I got the supercharger to show off

Might try Grundy Insurance. My 02 Z06 was $250 a year with 0 mileage restrictions and an agreed upon value. Might give it a try and see what they say.

I pretty much agree with all of this. But the biggest reason I'll never own a C7, is fit. I'm a giant goon and I just barely fit in my C5. I drove a friend's C7 with an automatic transmission, and I could barely get it done. If it were a standard, I could never work the clutch.

If anything, I think my next Corvette purchase will be a C6 GS. I fit nicely in the C6 and I like those Grand Sports.
