Default Museum, Plant Tour, Trip Suggestions

We are planning a trip to the Corvette Museum and Plant during April. We also plan to go over to the Tail of the Dragon. Any suggestions of places to stay, visit, and eat would be appreciated especially around the Tail of the Dragon. Wife also wants to drop down and tour the Gand Ole Opry. Thanks in advance.

Visit Maggie Valley, NC and stop in at the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum.

Sounds like a fun trip. In Nashville, there are plenty of places to eat in the downtown area (Broadway Street).

Great trip. Enjoy. Make sure and get a bite to eat at the cafe in the museum.

Thanks for posting! I am planning a trip with my wife in my new to me 00 FRC and we want to hit the museum, explore downtown Nashville, and hit the Dragon.

Anything fun to do in Knoxville?

Next door to the NCM is Art's Corvette's. Go check out some of the cars he has for sale, lots of muscle cars. Also if you are going to be in the area all day try this. My brother and I did the 1st GM factory tour in the morning followed by the NCM. After the NCM we went back to do another tour of the GM factory. It was the last tour of the day and no one else was their. So after the tour guide found out we had taken the morning tour and the fact that it was just my brother and I for the last tour of the day he took us to places "off" the normal tour route and we got to see things that are not on the "normal" tour. Even got to the meet the plant manager on the last tour. We also did the Dragon on the way up. Have fun.

Did this trip a couple years ago. Great trip. There are lots of hotels and places to stay. If you go to the tail make sure you drive the Cherohala Skyway as well. The moonshiner 68 is great. Deals Gap at the end of the tail is fun as well.

Yeah, the 28! For some reason when I type on this forum, things come out wrong, or crazy. If you find the "68" let me know. I have never done that.

I would also recommend Mammoth cave. Only 30 min from Bowling Green.

In Bowling Green food wise Mariah's is pretty good. The plant, museum, and track are all right there. You could do it all in a day.

Nashville has tons of good food.
Loveless Cafe
Five Points pizza
Arnold's
Mas Taco's
The Pharmacy
Hattie B's or Pepperfire if you want Nashville hot chicken.
If you need more I can come back.

If you are going to the dragon also do the Hellbender 28. Runs the south contour of Fontana Lake created by Fontana Dam. You can take a lake cruise or tour the dam itself. Then go to Nantahala Brewing Co 25 miles east in Bryson City.

In BG try Aviation Heritage Park. It's outside, it's free. I stumbled upon it one day!
