C6 Shift Boot

You could call Sandy at Vette Essentials. I recently order a new two-tone shift boot from them for my c5. I have a c6 shifter in the car and Sandy told me the boot would have a c6 top and a c5 bottom.

It's very easy, but yes, you do need to swap the rings.
I recently put a stock C6 shifter and boot in a C5. It was as easy as taking the old C5 boot, undoing the staples and removing the lower ring, and then simple taking the C6 boot, wrapping it over the same ring and stapling it down.

I swapped a C6 shifter into my C5. The top of the stock boot was too narrow for the C6 ****, because the C5 boot just goes around the shifter shaft, not the ****. I trimmed the top of the boot til the hole was just big enough for the bottom of the C6 **** to fit, then re-stitched the seams (because they were unraveling). I went to the h/w store and got a rubber O-ring that was the same size as the groove in the C6 ****. Then I turned the boot inside out, stuck the **** through it, put the O-ring around the boot in the groove, then flipped the boot right side out. I then screwed the **** to the shaft and snapped the boot into the console/bezel.
