Very nice write up! Cool car and great pictures. Nice to see a supercharged vette can do a road trip like that with no problems at all!

Beautiful pictures, Thanks for sharing. Seeing the Grand Canyon in my C5 is definitely on my bucket list. I live in west central Ohio, so it will be a pretty nice trip.

Nothing like a road trip in a Vette. We've just come off a 4 yr tour of the country in a motor home, spending 2 winters in the remote desert of So. Cal and are resettling in Central Fla. The car was on gravel a lot and still looks great, even sitting outside in the desert over the winters. We would travel and stay at RV parks and then tour in the car. Saw people taking pictures of monuments with car in the foreground!!!

Thanks! I spent most of my life in west central Illinois, then moved to Californina a couple of years ago, after I retired.
So, I get the Ohio, mid west connection.
Years ago, in my first C4, I started driving all over the country, from Illinois. Several times to Florida to see the Sebring race, and Arnold Palmers Bay Hill Golf tourney near Orlando on the way home.
And, I have been to the Yellowstone, nine times. I think 5 times in Corvette (s), and the others flew out and got rental car at Jackson Hole.
I'm often amazed, when I travel (now in my C5) at how few other Corvettes I see out on the open road. These cars rock, in mountains and Natl Parks and across deserts. And, they will clean up pretty nicely, after.... ;-)
If you haven't gone thru the Yellowstone, head west in your C5, asap. It's truly amazing, around every other corner. It's a different place, in each of the 4 seasons. You cannot see it all, in one trip! Then, head south the the Grand Canyon. Or make that another trip.
I live by the theory (in my modest way), that "he who dies with the most toys, ...... Wins!!! "
My 'toys' include trips I've loved, mostly those taken in Corvettes, and the memories from that.
While my health holds, I"m planning to go, whenever we can, where ever I desire.

Thanks. We have done that! We get the ones with a kitchen, then my wife cooks, and I get home cooked meals even when travelling.
They have KOA like campgrounds (can't remember the name of the company) in New Zealand. We stayed in their cabins, just like KOA, as we toured around the south Island of New Zealand for 11 days.
She's of Chinese heritage, and doesn't like too much food that Americans usually eat. And I love her cooking.... so it works well for us both.
