What am I seeing in this caliper/brake picture?
I was google image searching black calipers and found this photo. What am I seeing covering the brake pads? Polished stainless steel plate? Is this something sold from a vendor or home-made? I like the way it covers the brake pads.
Thanks,
Jim

Polished/Stainless plate over the back of the pad is all it is. I remember a couple of vendors selling these. Try searching around for brake pad cover.

They do look pretty good, especially with chrome/high polished wheels.

That picture is of one of my wheels. I got those polished stainless inserts from WCC...

These are nice. I had mine painted red to match my calipers and brackets.

I bet those are fun to keep clean unless you don't drive the car

Car probably doesn't see as many miles as most, never see's a wet road or a hose, I am pretty **** about keeping my car detailed, so they are a challenge, If they need a good cleaning which is 2-3 times a summer, they get removed from the car.

I drive my car and they are no harder to keep clean than regular painted calipers. In fact the smooth surface IMO actually makes it easier to clean off any road grime or brake dust.

I drive my car every day and there is no problem keeping them clean (no more than the chrome wheels or anything else). Whenever I wipe down the wheesl with Chadwicks (usually every couple days to remove dust), I just hit the calipers too.
