Gents, thoughts about running the following combo in a 19/20 setup?

275/35/19
335/30/20

What would be the diameter difference front to rear be? I'm assuming no T/C issues with that setup? Thank you!

Those are TALL. Fronts are about 26.6" high, rears are 28" high. No T/C issues, though.

Thanks Bud.

Are you saying there is any potential downside to that?

I would think a bit more side wall might be better, no??

The other option is a 265 or 275/30 and 335/25, which I would think would be a stiffer ride (and still wouldn't handle any better than the taller option)?

Thanks again for the help.

A little more sidewall would be beneficial for drag racing, but you wouldn't run 20s for that anyway. the 30/25 series option is the proper fitment. Both for proper diameter and for fitting inside the wheel openings. Your car won't ride any stiffer then the gazillion C6Z owners running the same combo!

I think what he means is a tire that much taller would be gearing your car up. The 275/30 and 335/25 is closer to factory diameters and the difference from front to rear is actually also closer to stock which is better for AH/TC/ABS, not to mention they'd fit the wells better as well.

stock difference F/R: 0.78 in
275/35R19 and 335/30R20: 1.33 in
275/30R19 and 335/25R20: 1.09 in

The shorter sizes should be fine. The C6 ZR1 and C7 Z06 come with 335/25R20 out back from the factory anyway

Why does it seem there are only Continental DW in 275/30/19 + 335/25/20?

If this is a pretty standard size, why aren't there more options from Tire Rack or Discount Tire?

Need4Speed also came back and said they could only find Continental in those sizes. Not sure I want a rim combo that limits me to a single brand/make of tire.

Perplexed.

I understand that you want to keep a 1/2 to 1-1/2" difference in tire diameter front to rear.

I looked up the popular brands on Tire Rack.com and the sizes they recommended were 285-35R19 front and 285-30R20 rear, which may be fine except that the overall diameters were within a couple of 10th's of an inch of each other. The only way I got any difference was to go to a 275-35R19 front and I am still unsure that the difference is enough. In a couple of instances, the original recommendations had rear diameters that were smaller than the fronts.

Any help out there from someone who runs these wheel sizes?

Thanks,
DSTURBD
I run 265/35R19 and 295/30R20, works perfectly and the recommended tire sizes from Jason @ GYWS.

There are other rear brands available in a 335/25 and 345/25 20" size. get the one you like, then just match the fronts. A 275/30 or even a 285/30 is a perfect 19" match.

Conti DW
Toyo T1R
Nitto Invo
Pirelli P Zero
Michelin Pilot

Maybe hit the C6Z section to see what those guys are using!

Michelin Pilot SS are available in 345/30R20 and 335/30R20. Tire Rack has both the 275/35R19 and the 335/30R20 in stock.

Sorry I know this is about 19/20 but you guys seem to know what you're talking about. I am installing a wide booty kit on my C5z
I have 245/40/18 on the front now. I am ordering 19x12 rear wheels.
I am thinking I will run 345/30/19 in the rear. Will I have TC issues?
Are the rear side walls going to be taller then the fronts? (I hope so I like that look)

Thanks for the help and sorry for getting somewhat off topic.

Default 19/20" wheels on my 1999 c5

I’ve been racking my brain with this same dilemma for my 1999 C5 Coupe (running 19/20 inch wheels & what tire size to get) for months. I’m happy to say it seem I found the right wheel and tire combination for my Vette.

The wheels are from “ForgeStar”, sizes 19x9” Front & 20x10.5” Rear. I went with “Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tires”; 255x35ZR19 on the Front & 295x30ZR20 on the Rear. I must say I’m very satisfied !
