Installed Evo 9 MR Seats in my c5z (PICS)
We all know the stock corvette seats are lacking, right up until 2012. I really love the look of the Evo 9 SE/MR seats with the alcantara centers and leather bolsters. I finally found a set semi local out of a wrecked Evo 9 with 10k miles. There is virtually no wear on any of the seats and the only flaw is a small rip on the passengers leather right near the slider which I patched up and is barely noticeable. That seat was twisted a bit from the accident, so I got an evo 8/9 seat frame off ebay (its the same frame, different covers) and swapped the foam and leather over to that one. I spent far less then I would have for the leather A4's. For those wondering, the only difference is the SE seats have vs the MR seats is the stitching is red (also somewhat rarer from what I can tell). The seats bolted right up to a set of Planted Seat brackets I got off ebay. They sit lower then stock...I think Im going to add a piece of 1" square bar between the sliders and the seat brackets. As they are right now it is difficult to get to the adjuster for the seat. They fit TIGHT, but they do fit. This was certainly a project with a lot of research, but I am very happy with the end result...they look like they belong in the car! Loads better then stock, I can push the car much harder then ever before. Feels like a completely new car...enjoy!
EDIT: I mentioned all this on page 2, but I found slimline ***** to replace the stock plastic ones. These let the seats slide without hitting the seat belt bases. I also added some lumbar support (from Corbeau) to the drivers side as Im having back problems lately.

800-1000 has been the going rate for black leather, the link above is priced high but they look fairly decent.
also consider crap corbeaus will cost you around a grand making those recaros somewhat cheap in comparison even at 1200
better deals exist, watch your local craigslist and get to know the evo guys. i've seen gem mint sets go for a grand
plan b could be to buy the cloth purple for $400 and then have the centers reupholstered

If you save a search ebay will email you when an item comes up.
The above is the only set on ebay right now.
The one wear blemish on the leather can be painted black with a brush.

After all is said and done, It was less then 700 for mine and they are 99% perfect. It was a great deal, but a lot of legwork, research, and getting lucky on ebay with the only Evo seat frame available to buy. I recommend the seats to anyone with a small to medium build...if you're over 200lbs it may be a squeeze. Other than that, the only negatives are not being able to adjust the seat back without the door open and sliding the seat forward first (not a huge deal, I dont think Ive had a passenger ever adjust it and Im the only one who drives the car) and there is no more forward recline function like the stock seats had, which I never used anyway. Hunt on craigslist and evolutionm.net...those are your best bets. Sometimes you may get lucky on ebay, but that one guy in Tampa seems to buy up all the evo seats and he basically sets the price. He has two sets up right now (someone above linked an auction) and both of those are in not so great condition. Good sets on evolutionm usually fetch 800-1000.
