How long should Neoprene seat covers last?
I bought a set of these from Corvette Parts Worldwide a little over a year and a half ago and I'm starting to get holes in them. I contacted Bruce at CPW and he said that the manufacturer's warranty was one year, so I could not get any replacements. I also contacted Mid America Motorworks, who made the covers and was told that there was nothing they could do and that the seat covers were not defective. So I guess these things only last 1.5 years? I wish I would have known that before I dropped $226 on them. Here's the last email I sent to Mid America, to which there was no response:
I drive my car to work and back 5 days a week and also drive it to lunch on those days. That means that I get in my car 4 times a day or 20 times a week. In one year, I get in my car 52 x 20 or 140 times. So in a year and a half, that would be roughly 210 times I got into my car. I'm 6'-3" and weigh 225 lbs. I try to get in and out of my car without being rough on it.
Should the seat covers last longer than this many times before showing wear or is this a normal wear rate?
I guess I will start looking into genuine leather seat covers now.
Sorry for the long read. Just needed to vent a little.
Thanks,
Sam

I would think that they should last much longer than that. But if the warranty is only a year, i have a feeling you're out of luck. Not sure what the warranty is on some covers like Wet Okole, but may be worth checking them out. Otherwise, Interior Innovations seems to be a popular choice for replacement leather seat skins.

I have two sets of Wet Okoles, the original neoprene covers - a set in my C5 which have seen very little use and a set in my dd '11 Mini Cooper almost since new, so more than 4 years. I have had them in the C5 since '02 and in the Mini over 4 years. Those in the C5 obviously look new since I they have seen little use but I drive 100 miles a day in the Mini and they still look new with no issues whatsoever. The Wet Okoles are in the same price range as some other competitors, maybe a bit more, but they are definitely of top quality and extremely durable. Plus, you can customize the WO's when you order them.

If you like the look of neoprene Try Wet Oklole next time. I've had them on my seats for about 14 years now and they still look like new. In all that time I've only cleaned them twice, but car is not a daily driver.
