made the foglight " vent/inlet/hole/duct " functional

Burning Brakes
What are those headlights? They don't appear to be the stock ones.
ever since i lowered the car more than stock bolts could max and added front lip/splitter, I had minor heating issues (coolant temp)
decided to make the useless fog light inlet/vent/hole/duct or whatever you may call them functional, so i made these
functional was my biggest concern. I didnt care too much how it looks or materials i used. If i wanted i could have made them into single piece plastic or full carbon fiber.but that would be unnecessary they would be covered up by the bumper and mesh grill
yes they made huge improvement on coolant temps
dont flame too hard haha and hope yall like it
the mock up
fully installed, I used acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic
fully installed and tested, you cant even see them

I really like this idea, but I have a couple questions: How well does the ducting seal up to the backside of the bumper? and like someone mentioned earlier if someone had a vararam they would be out for this option, but I was thinking how well would the flow be if you divided your duct in half horizontally once it narrows and sent that to a box around a cone filter built on a velocity stack? I saw your idea and was trying to think up a way to make it work for both cooling and making a ram air for the engine, try and get the best of both worlds. Then you could possibly seal up the bottom of the car and find a way to open up the engine bay a la vented hood or other ducting and take car of all the airflow needs of the nose of the car.

Maybe I don't fully understand, but don't these do pretty much the same thing while retaining the fog lights?

I found similar items offered by other vendors when I used the phrase "fog lamp housing". I wonder if the factory housing can be modified (or butchered LOL) to get all, or some of, the benefits.
Then it could go on the free or low-cost DIY mods thread.

Vararam modifies factory C5 housings to connect the twin inlets in factory positions. If you've ever looked at one the GM numbers are on them. Most manufacturers do this with screened or open ducts. I've not seen the product above in person so I cannot comment, however with a little thought and basic skills you could plumb a duct directly into radiator shroud from these housings to aid in cooling.

I run a 180 stat and my tune has the fans come on earlier, my temps run at 190, was stuck in traffic for a long time with outside temps in the 90"s and it went to 196. I also have a Vararam. I cannot lower my car due to driving on dirt for a ways. I just wanted to say nice job on your mod and your car is OUTSTANDING !!!!!! Love it !!!!!!!!

Bumping this thread to see if anybody ever made these ducts for the front vents for resale.
I’m currently utilizing the front plate area mod for bringing air into the intercooler, but would prefer something along these lines more.
TIA
