Default First Vette - Lots of previous mods - What do you guys think??

Okay guys so I just bought my first Vette and it’s a 2000 pewter mn6 C5 Coupe with about 50k miles on it. Before I bought it I knew that the car had some work done to it but neither I nor the dealership knew exactly how much. Luckily, the previous owner was meticulous about keeping track of all of the receipts for the work he had done to the car and as it turns out, he had put in the neighborhood of $15,000 into aftermarket parts and installs. I was able to gather up all the receipts and make a spreadsheet with the date the parts were installed/ordered, the vendor, the item, price, and most of the item numbers. Some of the vendors (racenet.net and such) don’t exist anymore, but I did a little research and found out as much as I could about what exactly was in the car. For anyone interested, I attached a photo of the spreadsheet.

As far as performance mods go this is what I could gather from the receipts:
• xr265hr-14 comp cam (LS1 Cam Package from Racenet.net) 212/218 .522/.529 (very mild)
• LS6 Intake (not in the receipts but has no hole behind throttle body for egr)
• TPIS headers
• Corsa pace car exhaust
• Some sort of X-pipe from WCC
• 160* thermostat
• Aftermarket MAF from Summit
• Ported and flowed 940 cfm throttle body from Breathless Performance
• Donaldson Blackwing induction filter
• Carbon fiber Vortex Power Duct
• B&M ripper short throw
• “Hypertech 2000 chip”
• SPEC II clutch
• Baer eradispeed Rotors
• Z06 calipers all round
• Summit spark plug wires

Just last weekend after having the car only a day I put brand new tires on it so I’m a little low on free cash but I’m really curious what kind of power the car might be putting down. I know there’s no way to know for sure without doing a dyno so please don't flame me too bad, but I’m sure there’s a few people running a “similar” set-up and it’d be awesome to know what kind of rwhp you guys are putting down so I can get a ballpark estimate – if you have some ET’s to go with your dyno numbers that’d be awesome too. As soon as I get ahead, I’ll put the car on a dyno and post an update, but like I said, I’m running a little low on cash after dropping around a grand on some new treads.

Thanks guys!

Some good mods there, my car when it was cammed ls1, same intake and long tube headers made 416 rwhp, but that was with professional dyno tuning and a more aggressive cam.

I don't really know about the modified output. At Least 60 horsepower at the wheels-- or so? How well does it run?

But the record keeping is absolutely amazing. I wish that I had records like that from the PO when I bought my 2001 C5!

Show us some pictures of your find!

One thing jumped out at me: $1300+ to replace a starter?
I realize it was at a dealer, but even then that's a lot of labor to install a $150 part.

You are right about that! Even at 100 dollars per hour. And it is a rebuilt starter ! But the headers may have had to be RR to get to the starter.

Congrats on the purchase of your 2000 C5. Great color and sounds like you got one with a lot of good mods on the car. Hope it gives you many miles of driving pleasure.

Which maybe turns a 1.5-hour job into a 3-hour job...still not wrapping my head around that number.

Nice record keeping right there... everything looks good except the spec clutch. I vowed off spec clutches after my friends clutch committed suicide and i started researching them more. apparently thats not an uncommon occurrence in the spec clutch world.

No issues or mods from 2004 to 2011? Odd no maintenance records with such detail. Enjoy!!!

Sweet

Need pics!

I'd guess 375ish whp. Sounds like a nice mild build, good gains over stock without losing drivability.

Will post pics as soon as I'm able. The car rips pretty good as is, but of course power is addicting and I'm looking for some more... I'd really like to be over the 400 rwhp mark. Not sure what I should do next... I'm thinking of adding a couple of mods before slapping it on a dyno to have it tuned. What do you guys think the next upgrades should be for under/around 1k before I do the dyno?

You've got some nice mods already bestowed on that car, and I have some of the same. If your looking for over 400 HP a more aggressive cam and say 243 heads from an LS6 will get you there easily. If you don't mind sacrificing MPG, your goal is easily within reach.

Sorry for the crappy dealer pics but the weather here hasn't been nice enough to take anything good yet. In the pic with the motor I think you can see that its the LS6 intake fairly clearly. What do you guys think a pair of 243 heads in decent shape would run?

Good lookin car
For budget mods I'd look at
-paint protection (Xpel on the nose & rockers or flaps to protect rockers)
-lower the front another 1/2" (free)
-Corbeau seats (stock seats are comfy but no 'connection' to the car)
-nice shifter of your choice (Hurst is pretty sweet at $40 or so)
-Bilstein shocks
-Tune by a reputable shop; remove the 'chip'
-frame protector (FattDaddy or similar)

I'd not mess with power adders unless you just gotta. The easy stuff is done. Stock the car was rated 345iirc? I bet it's at 425ish at the engine; that's already a big bump over stock. The next step will be $$ and/or will reduce drivability (bigger cam).

FYI those are some $$$ rims; you have the option of selling those & replacing with TSW's, C6, whatever, and have some $$ for other mods left over.
