Default lock cylinder ?

How do I seperate the lock cylinder from the ignition switch,going to replace lock cylinder.Thanks.

Once you have the whole switch/cyl assembly removed, you need to insert the ignition key and turn it to the run position. This will allow the cylinder to be disengaged from the switch.

one more ?,how do I put old stuff in new cylinder to keep my old keys.The problem was the black ignition cover had broken and allowed the metal cap on cylinder to come apart.I have a new cylinder on the way.

I agree locksmith it's a pain with those tumblers again youtube has videos but its a pain. Id Take your old keys and switch to a lock smith and give them the new one and say I want this key to fit in my new cylinder. I paid 30 bucks
