I should mention the car is mostly stock. Engine wise I only have Z06 TI mufflers, an X pipe (mainly cause the H pipe broke) and a Calloway Honker. I did hit the drag strip quite a bit before early on but lately I've calmed down Hope to do an engine leakdown test to see how healthy it is. Thought hard about a A&A S/C kit but not sure how well a 200k stock engine would handle it

Nice work. My '01 DD will likely hit that mark in about 2.5 years at my current rate of 30k/year.

Congratulations on your milestone. It also helps alleviate some of the fears about the ECBM failures.
I'm guessing your car has performed so well and lasted so long because you HAVE used it so much.

1) I drove it into a curb shortly after I just got it and broke a knuckle
2) The ground wire from the fuel pump popped out one day, disabling the car. It was a very easy fix after getting towed.
Even when the slave cylinder dying I was able to drive the car home in 2nd gear. I pulled it into N at lights, turned it off and started it in gear to get it going Getting it into the garage (uphill) with no functional clutch was fun.
Otherwise, never been inside the engine. Changed only a few other parts- windshield, weatherstripping, tie rods, ball joints, wiper motor, and the usual wear parts (brake pads, tires, clutch). I came from a 90 Toyota Camry and 97 Nissan Maxima, those two cars had fewer miles but more problems when I got rid of them! Admittedly it probably didn't help I took them to the drag strip

200k on my '98. Been my daily driver since New Years Eve of 2002. Never imagined keeping a car around for that long. Driven sun, rain, snow (with snow tires) and occasionally tows trailer for those home improvement projects
Original engine and trans, I've done all work/maintenance myself (except body work, alignment and tire mount/balance). Biggest failure was the slave cylinder crapping out requiring dropping the whole driveline on jackstands while I was at it, opened the trans and replaced some synchros.
We'll see how much longer she lasts

I didn't buy it to look at
Was wondering if someone was going to notice that... yeah, wide open back country road, cruising in 6th gear took less than a second to snap the pic..

Neither, build date Jan 1998. Not sure when the 98s changed over in late 97... but I bet mine is an early one. When I put on my cartek line lock, I remember my car being an odd version, the abs module wasn't in the back like the 97s, but it wasn't quite the same as the later year 98s either...

Yes. The HB has had a wobble since the day I got it, but never had any issues with it. Never got around to changing it though, although it's on my list in case it grenades. I think the AC compressor is about to die though, if I turn it off at the "right" time, it makes a weird noise

Congrats on the 200k milestone. My '99's next milestone will be 75k.

Sweet! I DD a '95 M3 with 225K on it, all original (main bits, its very modded) cept the LSD. A Vette with all those miles would be even more fun! Ha Ha....keep it up!
