Default Adhesive for gauge trim rings?

OK, I used search and cannot find the one thread I remember where someone posted a pic of what to use.

From what I've read there are several options, but all aren't the best:

1) SuperGlue - Will not adapt to cold northern temps and the rings will fall off

2) Some use a type of double face tape which is too thick and causes the ring to sit out too far

3) This is the one I can't remember. I remember the thread where there was a pic posted but I can't find it.

Anyone remember?

That's what I used. It's just now starting to get cold here so I hope I don't go out one day and find the rings fallen off. So far they have held up great.

This was one of the first mods I did after buying my 2004 vert new. I don't know what type of glue it was, however I used the glue that was supplied with the aluminum rings I purchased from West Coast Corvettes. They've been on for almost 10 years! (Knock on wood).

3m body trim tape. It's not too thick just too wide and has to be trimmed on the gauge bezel.

I would think outdoor clear silicone would work just as well due to plyability in the cold. This is going to be a fall project since one of my rings fell off when I hit a bump

I installed the al ones in mine 3 yrs ago but I used the amazing goop instead of superglue that came with it. Took my car a month later to VIR on July 2nd - 105* outside and probably 130*+ inside my car. Ran 2 days and rings are still on today. I am sold on the amazing goop. And yes, the al look really cool at night.

3M emblem adhesive will work and will hold for the long haul, Not the tape type, The liquid stuff.
