That pic has been posted numerous times. Owner is a forum member if I remember correctly. Car looks great even with the C6 bumper!

It's not "everyone else". As I said, people have been doing this for decades.

Well....we can agree to disagree, but I don't think I've ever seen any other generation Corvette with a newer generation front end. I've seen it within generations a lot (ie '67 hood and sidepipes on a '64). All I'm saying, 99% of the people go online, order a part for their car, and slap it on. Thinking what you want, building something custom, and doing it right, is thinking outside the box in my mind.

New photos fresh from the paint booth

I'm trying to go out side of the vendor box. Sneak peak of my custom front bumper. Should have my car back this week all painted. Wanted to keep the C5 styling and incorporate the C6Z front scoop and custom molded lower air vent for front air feed to the radiator. I will be using the carbon C5R front splitter though. Working on custom side skirts as well.

For your browsing pleasure:

http://www.spoilera.com/new/lt/index...=gallery&id=29 (see CORVETTE C6,ENDORA SC1)

There are plenty of kits for other cars that make them look like a different car all together as well:

I agree with your sentiment that people who build, rather than buy, deserve more respect. We disagree on whether this particular idea was unique or innovative. The bumper of this car can be bought off the internet just like a Tigershark. If the owner actually modified the headlight area and hood himself, then kudos to him for that.

i had forgotten about that c4 kit....and for good reason. And a kit car is a completely different topic (and irrelevant in this discussion. no one ever says "hey, check out my fiero! it looks like a lambo!).

Sure, you can buy a bumper that would fit. But I doubt that's what they did. I would think it would take longer to modify it to fit the C6 headlights than it would to modify a C6 bumper to fit a C5.

Either way, I'm happy to see something unique. I appreciate what some of these companies do by mass producing cool products, thus lowering the total cost. But I would much rather see something custom.

Interesting project. Did you start with a custom made bumper of modify the factory part?

Unlike many here, I like the center air intake look. Tigershark does not do a bad job - apart from the way the lower part looks like an add on - which it is. It does get rid of the late '80's faux Firebird nostrils, though.

But to me, overall, the C5 looks very good - better than the later cars. However the one part they never really got right IMO was the rear bumper - it makes the car look wider than it is. And that's the part most people see (as for the C7 rear, yuk). The C5 rear needs to not be so flat across the top (a well executed integrated spoiler would help), plus the center exhausts contribute to the "dog bone" fat *** look. Often thought about making a custom rear with a small spoiler and with twin exhausts either side, rather than the center. Have the sketches somewhere - need to dig them out again.

I used a factory front fasia. Got the center front scoop section from a wrecked C6Z06 amd molded it into the C5 bumper. Shaved the front filler plate. I cut out the fog light surround openings from my old bumper and molded them into the bottom of my new one to create a front feed air vent for the radiator. Once the C5R front splitter is installed it will complete the look. I will be posting a complete build thread once my new wheels brakes and trim are all installed.

I actually think the car looks good, I just wouldn't have it. I don't really care for the hood though.

I don't like it. The front bumper looks horrible, the lights just as bad, and the hood isn't much better. You'd think the guy would have figured out how to mount the front license plate too.
Agree 100%. I now know that I like C5 front bumpers better than C6. Hood is total muscle car look. BSM's clutter the look of this car.

That is awesome. If that has power rear sliding doors and leather then I'm calling Jose to make him an offer.

I usually don't like these over-done hybrid types, but that car looks good!

Still think less is more in general though.

I like it! It would look much better if it were a coupe!
