Default What is a good All around tire for my C5

Looking for a reasonable all around good tire for my C5 The car is almost daily driven and I do drive in the rain. I have fun in the car but I really don't push it hard or race it at all just a little spirited driving on occasion most of the time its driven normal never abused. Any suggestions would be appreciated Hate the Goodyear tires that are on it.

Well, you'll hear everything from F1 Runflats (hate 'em) to Hankook Ventus V12 (cheap and really good) and Conti DWS (great treadwear but a little soft handling in my humble opinion). I'll start it off with my .02.

I just put on a set of Bridgestone RE760s, which I've used on my 550i for a couple of pairs. Love 'em. Quiet, nice ride and very sticky. Just had some thunderstorms here in San Diego, and they did really well in standing water on the freeway. Very cool looking tread from behind. About $900 a set installed.

I went with the Bridgestone Potenzas RE 760s and just got back from a 3000 mile road trip. They worked great.

The Hankooks are still at closeout prices at Tirerack. I would go with them at those prices.

No question, that is the best daily driver option until they run out of stock.

Nice, quiet, with a good feel for my style of driving which is just like yours.
Also they did get me thru the worst hail storm I had even seen in Deadwood going uphill.
And a stretch on Rt 69 heading into Montana, that was nothing but mud.
Opened the door and their was mud all up in the sill.

So yes....put me down as a fan.

Just got the Hankook Ventus V12 evo's put on yesterday. Cost me $570 out the door at Firestone here in CT. Only had a one day of driving but huge noise reduction and the handling seems really good so far. Good luck with your decision. Btw, the guy said that I bought the last full set available. Had to wait a week for the rears to show. Not sure if it was BS or not. Looking at tirerack today it shows that the fronts are available to ship but the rears will ship when available. If you are thinking of using tirerack check with your installer because mine beat the price i would have paid if I had them shipped to me, then brought them somewhere to get installed. The runflats are not easy to get off the rims. Make sure they use care or they will scratch the rims. Good luck with your choice.

My 2003 Vette that I bought a few months ago came with Bridgestone Potenza's RE760 and I like them. They are quiet and seem to do well. I haven't "tracked" this car but I have had a few instances of "spirited" driving and they did all I could ask for. I can't tell you how they do in rain because my Vette will never see rain

My 2001 vert had run flats on them when I bought the car. Absolutely hated them. Loud and rough ride. Got rid of them within a week and had non-run flat BF Goodrigh g-Force Sport COMP-2 put on. $560.00 for all four out the door. Difference is night and day. Quite, great ride and handling, excellent dry and wet traction. Now have 6,000 miles on them. Holding up great with minimal wear. Great tire for the money.
