Default Anyone Vinyl-Wrapped a Transparent Top?

I have the optional transparent top on my coupe (needed the extra headroom it provided as opposed to the standard roof panel), but even with the tint, the sun here can get things uncomfortably warm. The top is in good shape and I don't want to do anything to mess up the polycarbonate, paint it, etc. I was wondering if an opaque vinyl-wrap film could be placed on the outside of the top to block the sun's rays without causing any long term damage to the surface. Has anyone tried this?

Looks good, can you show a picture of the after market interior roof liner?

The after mkt. roof liner is a cloth/padded style. The liner is held in by some perimeter tabs.

Mine was about 65.00
This example is around 100.00

Did a CF vinyl wrap on a solid top earlier this summer - no reason that I can think of that the same wouldn't work on a Lexan top.

Very nice work on the top. I'm interested in doing this as well but, was looking for someone that could laminate real carbon fiber(or hydrocarbon) to a glass top. Have seen a few for sale over the years but, can't seem to find anyone that makes these on a routine basis.

I wrapped my Plexiglas top with 3m 1080 carbon fiber vinyl wrap. My only complaint are occasional bubbles after the car has sat in the sun. I will probably re-wrap in the not to distant future. Even with the occasional bubbles, it still looks good.

There is a new "Bubble free" 3D Carbon vinyl wrap available (im sure 3M has got on board) check around Ebay, most for sale are of decent quality. OP make sure you look out for that

I use the cling on shade....and it makes a huge difference plus you can still get light through it...It is a dot matrix pattern and clings on so it can be easily removed and reinstalled.

I just had my top and halo wrapped in 3m black gloss vinyl and its looks great and blocks the sun completely. I don't have any bubbles but I also store it in the garage.
