Default Double D Mods does it again!

I'm in the middle of a fairly major project right now and part of that is to redo the gauge setup in my C5 to convert the A-pillar from a two to a three-gauge setup. This requires that I also add some gauges in the bezel so some custom work was in order. I contacted Dennis at Double D mods and we came up with a subtle but perfect design scheme for the setup I am looking to add.

I asked Dennis to do some similar work to what he'd done to Mrs. Patches' C5 a few years ago but with the custom gauge molding work added in. He covered the console in very high-quality leather and stitched in the C5 emblem and also covered the AH bezel in the same leather. The bezel is modified to take the two wide-band oxygen sensor gauges that I am painting the bezels on to contrast a bit with the main bezel. It will be classic subtle Patches.

The pieces Dennis completed for me are absolutely gorgeous and the quality competes with pieces you see in high end cars. Dennis outdid himself on these and exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. These need to be seen in person to truly appreciate the craftsmanship.

Thanks, Dennis!

A few pics:

Looks awesome.
Considering doing a double gauge myself for trans and diff. Just hadn't decided where.
This helps. Thanks.

Can we get a ballpark figure of what something like this costs?

Looks amazing!

Just for comparison, below are pics from 2010 when I installed a completely new aftermarket double din setup in Mrs. Patches' C5. Back then, I had Dennis cover several pieces in a similar theme to this one. That C5 was more about comfort and convenience for Mrs. Patches with triple insulation, an awesome sound system along with nav and a backup camera, among other modern touches.

If you're wondering - no, I'm not doing a double din setup in my current C5 because it's more of a go-machine than a cruiser so no need for a high-end sound system or nav. The music I listen to in my C5 comes from the exhaust tips and I never care where I'm headed in that car just as long as I'm moving.

What ED is saying here is his machine will be more about go then it will be about show, meaning he always wows with whatever he sets his mind too. He always sets the Bar extremely high. The exciting thing about this is his build will be an extremely highly detailed go machine, but not obnoxious yet tastefully done, much like everything he touches. These pieces are an example of the lesser appointments he has designed for his build. Can you imaging what the serious focus will be when its done. ED takes his time, does everything in a very controlled and designed manner, nothing is ever slapped together. I can't wait to see the final results.

Thanks ED!

I am very happy myself how these turned out. They are going to look awesome in the car when installed.

Thanks again for not only taking the time to post the pics but for your business! Always a pleasure working with you!
Enjoy my friend!!

Dennis - you've raised the bar for everyone doing custom mods to Corvettes. These pieces are the best I've seen and would be right at home in our Audi Q5 S Line. In fact, that gives me an idea . . .

Thanks, Dennis!
