Default Get the Cats off my Convertible!

Hey guys,

I have a cat that likes to sleep on my convertible top. Any tips on how to get rid of him? Worse yet, he's got white hair, I've got a black top, and he looks like he had trouble getting down this time and scratched my driver side door on his way down.

Thanks!

Your cat? Girlfriend's cat? Neighbor's cat? Stray cat?
Makes a difference in terms of how effective the solution can be...

If you park in a garage try hanging a bag of mothballs from the ceiling above the car.Let it unsealed so the cat gets a good whiff.

Well, I thought it was my neighbors, but I talked to her and she swears up and down it's not hers. I've never physically seen another cat around other than hers, but I do live in an apartment complex.

It's happened maybe three times in the past 2-3 months. Quick car wash takes care of the hair but the paint is significantly more valuable to me lol

squirt gun loaded with half water, half vinegar.

won't hurt it, but they hate that!!!
Nail it a few times with the squirt gun, it'll go else where.

First time a dog sees the cat on the car and tries to get it, you'll have scratches all over your car also.

Haha kitty mist. Like I said, I haven't seen the cat actually sit there so can't do anything to it directly.

Think leaving some mothballs on the roof will help? Won't attract any other wildlife will it?

They have top covers you can buy just for a Vette. But i'd go the cheap and creative way and use some old linens

I once saw cats sleeping on a convertible top, left a bunch of hair everywhere...the car was an SLS AMG GT

Yeah, I'd want to kill any cat that naps on the top of my vette...and scratches the paint. Doh.

Are there any sprays? Maybe put a big orange cone up there? Just buy a cat bed to keep him off? haha
