Default c5 troublespots and mileage

Looking at buying a early c5 (97-99). For a car that looks like it has been well maintained what are some trouble spots I should look for on a car over 100K miles. Also if it was well maintained how many miles should I expect out of the engine before major maintenance. Thanks been vetteless for 10 years boy off to school time for fun again

Check the DIC for codes, several parts are no longer available new for the Traction Control/ABS systems.

I bought my '98 last year and it has been a great car. Being 16 years old though, it has had to have few things replaced since I bought it. The a/c compressor went and while they were doing that I also had them replace the water pump, hoses, thermostat, belts, plugs and wires, tension pulleys, service tranny and rear end. I also installed new rotors and pads. If you are looking at higher mileage, see how much work has been done, get receipts, and check car fax. I bought mine right so the investment that I have put into it is just that.

That thread shows a Youtube vid of retrieving the codes. Use that when you're checking out a car
The LS motors were designed to go to 200k. Many owners have that and more on them with no issues
