Default Good NJ shop to fix Rear gear whine

As the title states I'm looking for a good shop in NJ or surrounding area to fix the gear whine from the back. Its becoming unbearable and I am hoping it is the rear gears. Im in central nj so any shop advice is appreciated!!!

ECS did my rear diff swap earlier this month. They will give you any/all options to consider.

Could you tell us what gears you switched from/to and how much they charged you?

Sure. I have an A4. Switched from stock 2.73 gears to 3.42 and 3600 stall converter. I have almost 300 miles on the setup so far and really like it. Very noticeable difference in performance but still very streetable.

I took the parts out of the equation because I figured I could shop for a deal and avoid the 7% NJ sales tax. I bought a used Z06 3.42SP diff and a new Yank SS3600 stall. I also provided a basic B&M trans cooler.

ECS charged:
$950 for swapping the differential and torque converter and for connecting the plumbing on the trans cooler.
$189 for changing both the transmission fluid and differential fluid per my request
$149 for a basic tune (I had ECS give me a basic tune at Carlisle last year so they only charged $99 to update the tune for the different gears)

About a year ago I got a soft quote of approximately $2500. This included parts and install for a torque converter, tune and to rebuild my differential with any gear ratio. Only problem was that 3.42 and 3.73 gear ratios won't fit in a 2.73 carrier. So I would have to provide a donor differential of 3.15 or higher on top of the $2500. I ended up finding a good price on a low milage used diff and went that route instead.

Hope that helps.

This place is very busy, I'd call back and press one for sales and talk to Ron if you havent. Place is littered with all kinds of vettes, they get pretty hammered.

Keep in mind there is currently an intergalactic back order on 3.90 and 4.10 gears. Estimated time of shipping from the only manufacturer is still about two months out.

Thanks for the referrals guys!

If anyone is willing to pay to swap out the 3.90 in my car to a 3.42, you can have the gear set. Car is a 2002 z06.

Setup has approximately 4000 miles on it. Let me know. I'm I'm Houston.
